the thing is i told the lady the interview was in the morning and my sign on is in the afternoon and that i just forgot about the sign on so i kinda dont understand why they want to know about the interview as i said i was home just forgot0

As a previous poster has stated it was a bad move to say you had an interview. You should have phoned the JCP and said you were ill. You could have said you couldn't get through as you were put forever on hold in a queue. It would have been impossible to prove.
Also due to their workload, I am 90% certain that if you wrote the name of any old company on the form that you said you had that interview with, they just wouldn't be a***d to check it.
BTW I am not suggesting or advising in anyway you do this, just stating fact0 -
Hang on, you said you woke up and realised that Friday was your signing day but now you are telling us it was in the afernoon?!the thing is i told the lady the interview was in the morning and my sign on is in the afternoon and that i just forgot about the sign on so i kinda dont understand why they want to know about the interview as i said i was home just forgot
What was the time when you woke up? 3pm???0 -
I know at midnight on the Tuesday if I haven't been paid. For two days you never looked at your bank account or took out £?
At the end of the day there is no excuse other than illness (and you let them know) or an interview (same thing) for missing a sign on and never lie and think you can get out of it as it will and has backfired on you.
No i have been in abit of debt so left the bank and havnt bought anything in months
i know there is no excuse for missing a sign-on date i just wish i didnt panic and say something that didnt happen0 -

It does happen - we are not all as perfect as you.0

When did I say I was perfect? It does not happen if you have your mind on what you are doing or even care!KevInChester wrote: »It does happen - we are not all as perfect as you.

No, you are not stating fact at all! As the OP's case is now going to a DM there is a distinct possibility that they will ask for proof of the interview, they even have a standard letter to send to the potential employer, it would take seconds.
If this is the first time the OP has missed an appt they may be sanctioned for two weeks. If the OP lies, the sanction could be far longer.0
