I know this is long winded but here's what I did. I didn't have sky so obviously they keep on at you to join, I got my mate to phone to recommend me as a new customer. He said I wanted sky+ but was only interested if i could sort out a deal. i had the sky+ box for £50 have the £18 package but the deal was i don't pay the £10 a month subscription. you can vary it if you want, try asking for a cheaper package or free sky + box, in fact whatever you can get.

DONT get sky talk or broadband yet.

after a few weeks then phone them for broadband and for sky talk.
or you can try your luck and haggle for everything!

two questions if people don't mind:
    1. as far as i can tell the difference between sky mid and max broadband is that the latter is unlimited usage and is 16mb speed. is the quoted speed what you actually get or is it better to get the 40gb capped mid package?
    2. i have just moved into my new house and there was already a sky satellite dish installed and so the engineer came round and activated the channels (i just have the basic channels). he also provided me with a skybox - do i have to pay a monthly fee for this (i have the sky broadband/phone/tv package at £26 per month). thanks all as always :)
BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Phoned Sky 3 times, they are NOT doing any deals at the moment probably due to the influx of customers who are leaving Virgin Media. When I phoned them about a month ago, they offered me the 2 mixes for £10/month, now they would not budge at all from the £15/month and one of the staff said there are absolutely no offers. Seems like I will have to wait until mid April-ish when all the Virgin customer switching have died down! :(
