Tesco phone shop...Samsung Galaxy S3

Venting my spleen here peeps !!!

Anybody had any experiences with Tesco Phone Shop. OH has just gone for a new upgrade having had Iphones for years and decided to try the S3. Got a reasonable deal at Tesco yesterday and on getting it home all seemed well. After about 3 hours the S3 stopped working and said "Emergency Calls Only". Rang helplines who said wipe the sim and put it back in. Did this but no change. No change this morning either. OH has now decided to stick with what she knows best and wants to change back to the Iphone 4s.

Today we went back to Tesco and the Team leader initially said that we couldnt change the phone. Wife said its not working and maintained she wanted to change to which he reluctantly moaned about having to cancel one contract and start another one. Crack on we said. He then said that the gateway was down and he couldnt do anything at the moment but that he would ring us when he could. He claimed it may take up to 7 days for the gateway to reopen because "sometimes things need to catch up at O2's end !!!!" We pointed out that the phone had worked but he said he cant do anything at the moment.

Having spoken to O2 they said that the gateway had been down for an hour but was now up and running. Team leader reckons it was still down.

Unbeknowns to him , when he cancels the contract we are not going to start a new one because we feel that he has just taken the p!55 in the hope that we will change our minds and keep the phone. It has also been suggested that they are on more commision for the S3 hence his reluctance to swap it.

Anybody got any idea about this gateway situation or had similar problems with Tesco.

maybe use a better attitude, its not his fault and have you got o2 to check the service
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I know its not his fault but he is selling a service/product which is not being provided. At the end of this contract I would have spent almost £700. I dont think its too much to expect good service without being lied to

It would seem you have two different issues here. Initially with a faulty? handset (or network) and then secondly with the sales person at the Tesco phone shop.

If the sales person at Tesco is something you want to deal with then by all means, but your better off complaining to the guys manager rather then lumping them both together and holding him to blame for the faults with the handset.

Its unlikely he will suffer much if any problems if you cancel rather then get a different handset or contract deal but it is more likely to get you responses if you complain higher up and get the complaint followed through.
