Does this mean I don't even need third letter? Might as well go straight to Moneyclaim?
Thanks0 -
You don't need to answer their points, it's just another stalling tactic. Dad went straight to Moneyclaim and they paid up before he even got a court date!0

OK I'm going to do that today. There is no point me trying to answer their letter, there is too much legal jargon for me to do it without professional help, which sounds like it may not be necessary.0

Ok I did my Moneyclaim last week - amazingly easy to do it online. Today I received an acknowledgment, to say that Northern Rock is going to defend! I will wait and see..0

Hi
Need some advice. Have had success with both Abbey and Alliance & Leicester. Now trying with Northern Rock. The wording on the letter is different, not sure if they are trying to put us off. They state 5 points They say that befor we consider court action we need to provide them with further details of our argument, and if we do not provide these details they reserve the right to report this to the court, they also say that we do not have reasonable grounds for a claim and in their opinion would not succeed. In their summary they say that the charges are lawful and are not a penalty but a service. They also advise that we go to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Charges on current accounts relate to services provided and are not defualt charges. They are stated at the onset of account opening. They conclude by stating that they are still keen to resolve the matter amicably! Not sure what to make of all of this, as it is not the usual form of letter. Please can someone advise.
Thanks

Hi
I am also trying to reclaim from NR Have had the usual letter about replying to their legal jargon. They aslo say that if we do not respond they will infrom the Courts of this, and if we go to Court we are not likely to succeed.
They conclude by stating that they charges a service and not a default charge. In conclusion they woulfd like to conclude the matter amicably.
Need advice as I have had successful claims with both Abbey and Alliance& Leicester.
Thanks

I'd say just carry on Annie, that's exactly the same wording as the letter my Dad got and they paid up before he even got a court date!0

I didn't expect such an early payment! Today received a cheque for £744.95 from Northern Rock - submitted MCOL claim on 15th May! Letter states "notwithstanding your failure to address the legal issues raised in NR plc's previous correspondence, for reasons of commerical expediency :rotfl: and without any admission of liability whatsoever in relation to your claim:rotfl: , NR plc has decided to settle this matter in full".0 -
Congratulations! :T :T
Nice to know they are still sending the same letter out, so many people being classed as failures when they hand them a big fat cheque!0
