I have stopped my card the other month, customer services is soso although not really had issues with them.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I would close down your other subprime credit cards and use this one to pay off shopping bills or whatever and pay it off in full every month.
I've spoken to a few difficult lenders about credit card applications . They have advised me they will look at the total amount of outstanding debt against your income, the credit limits you have available, in some cases the types of finance you have been taking out i.e. pay day loans, poor credit rating cc etc and how many credit accounts you have available. Thanks to everyone for the comp links

I didn't think other lenders could see what type of credit accounts you have except for that you have £X amount of total credit available to you. i.e., i'm pretty sure my bank can't see that I hold a Vanquis card, a phone contract and an overdraft... just that I have three credit accounts.
Someone correct me if I am wrong???????Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
Your credit file does indeed show what credit accounts you have. Who they are with, credit limits. Payment amounts. Balances. Etc etc.
This will indeed also include mortgages, overdrafts and telephone contracts
I'd suggest you obtain statutory credit reports from all 3 of the UK's Credit Refererence Agencies.
You may be surprised how much detail they contain
Cheers,

I believe OTHER LENDERS can't see the information you can see though when you request your own report.
They don't need to know which credit company you're with, only the amount of debt you have. And if they really can see these intricate details, consider me miffed.Oh, you wee bazza!0 -

I wouldnt bank on that TBH Maestro IMO its just pure speculation which has started on this forum and no true facts that actually back up wether or not other lenders see the names of your accounts.
Like my other post said the Flybe underwriting team in 2010 knew I had a Barclays account and barclaycard, so thats the reason why I believe lenders do see the names of past and present accounts.
I would like to know how someone actually came to the conclusion that lenders don't see the names of accounts as its a computer that search the applicants credit file.0 -

Relax, they can't.0 -

One of the ways they ensure compliance is by not providing lenders' names on credit information given by the CRAs. After all, without these principles if an organisation only wanted ultra safe customers they could choose to deliberately target those who currently had, or recently opened, accounts with lenders known to be 'picky'.0 -

When you apply dont you input your account number and sortcode into the bank details section?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
