Congratulations.
Whats the rate?0 -
I think it said 24.9%... (goes to check).... Yep, its 24.9% and the limit is £1,000.
I do have other cards (sub prime ones), so this wasn't a necessity, but I've been working hard at trying to fix my credit report after being a silly boy many many years ago (its amazing how long your mistakes stay with you!).
I've just had a CCJ drop off my credit report, which appears to have boosted my creditworthyness somewhat.
I won't be applying for any further cards for the foreseeable future now. Already got Vanquis (£2500 limit), Aqua (£500 limit), Capital one (£200 limit), Rise (haha! £300 limit). All with zero balances, and all used once each per month and paid off in full.
Whether or not its building my credit, or whether I've now got too many cards remains a moot point... all lenders score differently as we know.
Anyway, having had nothing better to do this evening that see if my application was accepted, I'm now quite pleased :-D0 -
I will be applying for the creation card or maybe the Flybe card in the next 3 weeks.
I'm in a similar situation as you Sharpy with regard to the subprime cards that I have:-
Vanquis = £1750 limit
Aqua = £700 limit
Capital one = £1500 limit
Monument = £700 limit
I on the other hand carry balances on all the cards and hope to get a balance transfer card by either Creation or Flybe (if the do balance transfers).
You have zero balances on all your cards, so maybe that makes you a better candidate than me for acceptance.:(
Fingers crossed though.0 -
You still have a monument card!? How? They don't exist any moreCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

To many unused cards, cancel the aqua, capital one and rise as the limits are small and rate will be high. Also, if you dont need it, cancel the vanquis. You would find that after a 3-6 months capital one would give you a progress card as a "new" customer with a much lower limit.If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0 -

If he's just been accepted for a Flybe card I very much doubt he is going downgrade to cap1 process sub-prime card that will take him 2 years to get the same rate as his Flybe.
His credit must be half decent to get the Flybe so I think in the near future a decent low rate barclaycard might be his next port of call.0 -

Flybe accept people even with defaults, so dont bank on it.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

It's still a significant "step on the ladder".
I went from Vanquis and Cap 1 to Flybe and now 2 years later I have a myriad of decent cards (Halifax Clarity, Nationwide Select, Marriott, Tesco) despite having a relatively low income.0
