Get well Maisie

Options
So, my normally bouncy and happy (if slightly nutty) mutt isn't well :(

Absolutely fine this morning - had our walk (where she was her usual nutty self) and everything was fine.

An hour later she wasn't right (you know what I mean, when you can just tell there's something up), phoned the vet and had her booked in for tea time.

Another hour later and she was really droopy and shivering ..... straight to the vet where her temperature was at 105.5 deg  - so, she's currently there & they're trying to bring her temp down.

Please keep your fingers crossed....... just want my bouncy, waggly girl back home back to her normal nutty self :(

Oh dear... you think it may be something to do with her having been spayed recently?

Fingers and toes crossed for her.. and for you... HUGS
  • Thanks GR - vet had a good look at the wound (which I've been keeping an eye on) and it looks absolutely fine and it's actually hard to see it now it's healed so well, so it's not that (although they do take longer to heal internally).

She says the speed that it came on - literally 2 hours between being absolutely fine and flat as a pancake - would suggest an infection which she's picked up somewhere. She's a b****r for picking things up when we're out and she also came from a very isolated place so hasn't had much interaction with other dogs / different habitats so prob doesn't have as much immunity to everyday things IYKWIM.

I was told by Zara's vet at FP that she can still get infection now and if I remember right, up to 4 weeks after surgery (internal) so walking on eggshells myself.

Hope all turns out of with Maisie soon.... HUGS
