nmlc - so sorry to hear of your Aunt's passing - she is free from pain now.
Bitsy - Have a lovely holiday.
JackieO - I am sure the grab rails will be security for you.
Loss Adjuster just been, the insurance are going to pay for everything to be fixed as long as I get the 2 quotes they need. They are also going to appoint a restoration and cleaning company who will deal with the mattress, rugs, etc. Feel better knowing that eventually everything will be fixed. DD not doing so well, she is totally freaked out at being in the house and isn't sleeping very well.
I have decided that once everything is fixed I will put the house on the market, have half-heartedly tried before but I think this is the push I need.
It has just stopped raining but still breezy. May actually try some housework today now the 'dust' is settling. Take care. XX0 -

It's peeing it down there according to my parents hence my mercy dash to buy DS something waterproof as he owns nothing like!
I am clock waching, H hoping to finish work early and then bring on the sea :j:j:jI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

nmlc - lots of hugs. and I hope things are okay for you and your family in the days ahead.
hester - I am impressed. I hope you can work something out!
bitsy - desperately envious, I love the sea, and didn't get to see it much at Whitby.
Tonight I am getting some stuff in the freezer used up so it is tinned meat, frozen yorkshires (OH insisted, but:o:o:o) and frozen roasties (likewise
:o:o:o). I am going to be doing my own in future. I am looking forward to emptying the freezer and defrosting it.
Deep cleaned most of the bathroom. Looking forward to next week when hopefully I can stick to the flylady.
Last night, between little bear and evil cat I didn't get much sleep. I hope to get an early night. I think evil cat needs her back claws clipping (she was tapdancing on me last night) but as the vet needs help from next door neighbour with welding gloves just to examine her, I don't think that is likely to happen soon.
OH has taken little bear out to softplay as an Approved Food order is due, and little bear watches every tiny parcel come out, mentally compiles a checklist and demands all losses are accounted for. I am trying to spare myself this grief. He has a school disco coming up - where did the years go? And he is only five! And he knows a little girl in his class who will help him dance - who is a friend of his girlfriend! Oh, and it's £2 to the school, thank you so much. Sigh. And 'party clothes'. That covers a range of stuff, none of which he owns.:o:o perfect excuse to buy him one of the gorgeous outfits they sometimes have in Matalan? I even saw some inexpensive ones (relatively) in M&S. I am not sure I can justify it though, as I have no idea when he will next need party clothes. All the local parties are softplay.
And off to have a bit of a sweep of the surfaces in the living room so that darling father has a steady surface to put his whisky on during the England match.
hugs to anyone I have missed, and hugs again to nmlcAnkh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Afternoon All
nmlc Sorry to hear about your Aunt ((((((Hugs)))))) to you and your family x
Didn't post yesterday because I had a bad fall in the kitchen at 9.am, I went down hard on the worst knee and hit my eye off the counter so I have a lovely black eye and have a small crack in my knee cap which the hospital says there is nothing that they can do and that I just have to rest it.
Worst of all I thought that I had broken my new glasses that cost £500 a couple of months ago:eek::eek:, but I went to the optician and he replaced the nose pieces, which had snapped and cut underneath my eye, put a lens back in and straightened the frame up, it was lucky that I went for plastic lenses this time. he was not happy with the hospital and wanted to know why I wasn't sent for a scan on my eye, but he checked me over and said I have jolted the jelly part at the back of my eye and that I have to refrain from too much reading or computer work for a couple of weeks. When I asked him how much it was for the repairs he said that there was no charge, now that is what I call after sales service.:D
I will just have to have more water with it wont I girls;)
SIL said she will do my hair when she gets back from holiday now so I have at least got something to look forward too.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Bitsy - don't know if you will see this before you go - if you are just south of Bristol at around 6.30 ish you may see the Red Arrows as they are performing here this evening, going up the channel.0

Butterfly - that fall sounds nasty - please take it easy and look afteryourself. Your optician sounds a good fellow:T hope your knee isn't too painful x x x
Bitsy - have fun at Woolly!I'm sure the rain wont stop you all having a great time x
Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi everyone.
Can't believe my lovely hols are over. We left Symi in temps of 40+and arrived back to winter. Never mind, we've spent today working out an extremely tight budget so that we can go back there next year. We usually only do abroad every alternate year but it was so gorgeous we can't wait that long to repeat it.
LW: Glad you enjoyed the Island, thank your lucky stars you weren't here last week. Apparently it was appalling. My DS who lives at Bembridge reported that the sea, instead of rolling in and out was running from left to right. Perhaps you will come back some time.
NMLC: So sorry you are going through a bad time. Was this the difficult Aunt that you were worried about your parents having to look after? Whatever, it's always sad when a life comes to it's end.
Called in to see my DIL 2B and was shown pictures of my granddaughter to be born in September. She was yawning when they were doing the scan - obviously quite used to the limelight!
We were shown the new Moses basket etc and informed that DIL doesn't like pink so everything is in very modern colours - grey with white spots seems to feature heavily - which is going to be interesting when I present them with the pink and white baby blanket I'm halfway through.
Spent today gloomily unpacking and washing. my heart is not in it so it's tending to be slow and draggy. Did some shopping this am as the cupboard was bare but was very abstemious and did NOT deviate from my list.
Will try to catch up with what has been going on in the next couple of days.
Would love to be able to say 'nice to be back' but my conscience won't allow such a bare-faced lie.I believe that friends are quiet angels
