Morning everyone,
Well done on your sales Hester.
Hilstep have a nice time with your dad.
Islandmaid try to enjoy your day, I hope your daughter realises what a lovely mum she has.
Taplady and LW glad that you had good holidays.
nmlc hugs.
I am going into work late this morning as I am taking DD1 back to the doctors to have her ear checked out. Other people have volunteered to cover my lessons.
DS has a history exam today and then is having some friends round later to watch the football. He was going to the 20 20 cricket but the weather forecast is terrible.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning :hello:
I ended up with cheese spread sandwiches and ice cream for tea last night. Miss tru is very hungover. She lost her camera last night, on wednesday night she lost her phone and cashpoint card. Pah.
We're going shopping this morning, then a visit to the garden centre. Mum and dad are going on holiday, so we'll take dad's father's day present round to him today. By the time we're home, miss tru will probably have recovered and I won't have to listen to the noises that I can hear at the momentBulletproof0 -
Morning Hilstep and all,
Wow did we have winds last night! I lost internet from my broadband provider (Virgin Media) and also lost internet on my phone too (different provider and not on wifi). I dont think ive lost internet completely in the many years ive used it so it must have been bad.
Just as the weather turned last night i had to run outside and salvage the plants that were in pots as the wind was blowing them everywhere. I cant get in the greenhouse now.
Talking about the greenhouse, the plants dont seem to have done very well this year. Lettuce is ok but the tomatoes, peppers and cucumber have done particularly miserably. Ive told MrJudi that i dont think the greenhouse has been warm enough as we have only had a few days of glorious sunshine and lots of low temperatures. I think if he insists on growing his own veg next year he is going to have to invest in a greenhouse heater (which i think defeats the object of growing our own to cut costs).
Son has his German exam today (i think). That was one exam he didnt take in January (I dont think he likes German much).
I never did get round to making that quiche yesterday so it looks as though i'll be making it for our tea tonight. Hubby wont complain as he loves quiche.
Tru, have fun at the garden centre. I love garden centres (even if i'm not that keen on gardens). As for your daughter.... she's young, she'll learn, obviously for her, the hard way of the pitfalls of getting hammered on her birthday... but lets face it, we've all done it.
Nmlc Still thinking of your family at this time.
Have a lovely day all, and sending you many hugs. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
morning all!
wet here today. Washing indoors on airer. Went shopping yesterday, am feeling in a rut with our meals at the moment - far too much convenience food:( so am goingto try and make the effort to cook a bit more - me being the only one not eating meat makes it harder to do a meal we can all have - and DH being fussy about lots of things is a pain but I will try.
We have my sons GF for tea today - think I'm going to try a tuna pasta bake - DH wont eat it but he can have a pizza watching the footie.
I also want to try and make a birthday cake for DH for Sunday - he's 50. We fell out in the supermarket yesterday as he wanted me to buy a packet cake mix:eek: cos it was cheap and I refused. I can make a lovely cake myself - I shall show him. Hopefully he'll get over his sulking today:cool::D
nmlc - (((hugs)))
Have a great weekend all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all ((hugs)) and good luck to exam takers.
Couldn't sleep last night and now my tonsils are really swollen so pretty grumpy. Good job OH is staying out of my way! Think I'll have some HM freezer soup for tea and OH can have LO pizza so I don't have to chew/cook.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Mornin' all (it is still morning, I think?):DWell my chaps came and installed my 'grab rails' in the bathroom so i'll be a lot safer when having a shower now(eldest DD insisted as she was worried about me falling) it keeps her happy and me safer so not all bad even though it does make me feel a bit of a doddery old woman (yeah I know I am:):) )hilstep2000 wrote: »JackieO - I have grab rails by the loo and in the shower, makes me feel much safer. I also have a bath lift now which is like a big blow up armchair. You use an electric pump to blow it up to the top of the bath, step in, sit on it and deflate. It lets me have a lovely bath, then I blow it up again and step out! My OT's got it for me, best thing ever!
I need to do Lottie's "postcard home" in a bit, as she'll be collected this afternoon. I think I'll take her for her walk first though, while it's not raining!:D
Laters, folks.:wave:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon everyone
Just spoken to my mum, Aunt passed away this morning - feel so sad but relieved that she's no longer suffering and in such awful pain, hoping she's now pain free with the Angels x

Islandmaid let her sulk and enjoy yourself. She will learn eventually to appreciate what she has xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
