Good plan, I spent ages getting a wifi router working as a wifi bridge for my TV and Sky HD box. It took ages and a firmware update to dd-wrt to get it going.
It works very well and I often use Iplayer on the TV but am not that impressed with and have hardly used the Sky anytime + over the internet.
You may find more content to suit you but before spending £20 or so on wireless components I agree you should try it out via cable. I bought this 30m cat5 ethernet cable from Ebay for £3.25 delivered to connect my bedroom Tv and it works fine.

I recommend a media streamer, the WD Live TV one is good. About £90.00, connect it to your wireless network then you can connect to any pc on your network via your tv and access any files on any pc on your tv. For my situation, it is to allow me to watch movies from my pc upstairs on my main tv. Had a problem with streaming HD wirelessly as my internet connection couldnt handle it but ran a cable and c an now stream HD (via cable) in full 1080p0 -
Well I had to stretch my router one way and my tv stand etc the other way as I only had a 1.5 metre Ethernet cable, lol.
Anyhow connected up and it worked no problem, flicked through the programmes available and put a couple on my HD box, watched them and they stayed on there.
So, seems Ethernet cable irks ok, I was going to put my router behind TV though I thought it ay affect my signal throughout the house as it currently sits in the hallway, Also thought there were already far too many cables behind the TV.
So, think I'll go out today and find a 5 metre Ethernet cable and just use that for my anytime +.
Thanks guys,Wayne.0 -
I prefer the Xbox 360 console app any day. I have mine wired in and use it all the time.0

What about a powerline adaptor? It uses your electric system as a way to transmit your internet connection.0
