I am glad that you are feeling more like yourself Dora. Accepting help graciously is good - it is something that I am learning to do instead of trying to be fiercely independent.
I have house news at long flippin last:j The completion date is set to be 25 June - the contracts have now been exchanged. The rotters wanted to complete on 29 June but mum refused and said it could either be 22 or 25th as I am moving out on 30 and it is already cutting it fine. The solicitors are totally fed up with the vendors and their bizarre behaviour. I have booked the removal chaps as I thought it better to use professionals than rely on chums because the cost would work out about the same as I would have to hire a large van.
No news on the job as yet, however, I was contacted by R*mploy earlier as my CV needs further updating because the prospective employer had additional queries, an updated CV with some explanations has been sent via email so I should be hearing next week. The feedback so far has been really positive.0 -
I am not very good at accepting that body is not invincible either and then when I really do need to go 'hang on a minute............' people think its cant be that bad! Whatever ails you Dora for heavens sake dont G**gle it:eek: I did that for something I have that seems to bother everybody else but me - and for about half an hour I thought I had 6 months to live and any treatment would leave me robbed of everything:eek::eek: then I realised I was looking on American forums which can be very scary places:rotfl::rotfl: I did join a national support group but after a while realised they all really needed support for more than what the condition was and I couldn't stand the post op survival stories so I cancelled my membership - shame really cos amongst it all was some very good info and advice and some very nice people.
But Dora its good to here you are feeling a little more upbeat:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Those American sites are scary - why do they have to exaggerate everything? When I was first diagnosed with glaucoma I looked it up on the internet and convinced myself that I would be totally blind within a month or so - well I have lost sight in one eye but I can still see and still drive. Instead I opted to ask questions - so now I know almost as much about my eye disease and the glaucoma as the consultant, asking him direct questions is far less scary.
I guess I should go and watch Monty on Gardeners World maybe he can give me some tips..far better than watching the boring football any day of the week.:D0 -
A big shock catching up with the old thread over to this one but wish MG well in her future and hope the other side continues on, even if here can't.
I'm not around as much as I was before, I guess we all move on a bit eventually. But will still pop in and if there's ever anything I can help someone with - please feel free to PM me as I still get email notifications.
I'm off on honeymoon next week so I'll catch up with you all soonNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Bit tired this morning, but nothing much happening here so that is good. I just need to nip to Sainsbug's and pick up a couple of cards and a bit of shopping.
Dorastar - hope you feel better soon.

Gemmzie - Congratulations, hope you have a fab honeymoon!!! I would so love to see a pic if you have one, or maybe by PM.
I have just got back on hols too and caught up on all the posts, and MG's birthday and move to her blog and the other side.
I have been unsubscribing from a lot of threads over the last 6 months or so too. These threads have been amazing and taught me so much, but I developed a bit of an MSE addiction and it's not good to be avoiding real life! So this seems to be a good moment to unsubscribe from this thread too as I am out of the habit of checking MSE.
