Welcome :) As far as I understand, there isn't any particular deadlines for making 1% in, although you might decide to set a personal one. Some people have given themselves a target percentage to gain each week because they would like the whole 100% by a certain deadline but personally for me I'm just cruising along at the moment and seeing how things work out :)

You have some interesting ideas of raising funds, I'm particularly intrigued by how your Beanie Babies will sell. I have lots at home and while they're cute I think I might need to find them a new home soon.

What is this reward and cash back that people seem to be getting?

The reward I was referring to is from having a Halifax Reward Current Account. Every month I pay in £1000, they pay me £5 as a reward.

Cashback is from shopping through websites such as Top Cashback and Quidco, by clicking through their link they recieve some advertising revenue and as a thank you a small amount is passed onto the consumer.

Just a quick update from number 91:

Fund one £40, 1.4% so far
Fund two, £30, 1% so far

Still waiting on £13.50 from another eBay item sold and have three more finishing this week so will have to see how they go. My super points are adding up and think I'll leave those to build up for vouchers to use at Christmas. Also have £15 waiting to be payable on Topcashback. Finally quidco check ins are building up and will withdraw every time I get to £5.

    Good luck everyone this month!

I've been reading this with interest and have broken my debt down to 1% and it comes to £70. Now that seems like an attainable figure.
I've recently changed my Santander current account from an ordinary one to a 1,2,3, account which pays me a cash back amount on bills paid by direct debit. It charges me £2 per month but pays me over £6. Not much I know but every little helps.

Hi all. What a great thread this is and everyone is doing so well . I would love to pay off my mortgage early so think i should join you all.

    MY 1% IS £260

  • I have been watching this with interest... I am save save saving at the moment and have just this month got enough for my share of house deposit. However, I would now like to have the money ready asap to pay off my final installment on car. Therefore, 1% of 2500 = £25. Please can you sign me up?!?!

So far... 15 profit on ebay, 8 on selling stuff through local paper and 4 through selling some silver necklaces (little stall in local high st!) so 27 so 1% down already :)

I will be mostly lurking, but I would like to join the challenge. I've got a weird mortgage thing, with three separate bits, and one of them is £7k (ish). I've got until October 2013 left on my fixed rate, and although I can overpay bits in the meantime without penalty, I want pay off that whole chunk at the end of the fixed term instead. Then I focus on the two big bits!

So, 1% is £70. I'm opening a new ISA today to maximise the interest on the savings too, and have a stack of stuff ready for eBay, Amazon, cash4clothes etc.

This is a brilliant idea, thank you Miss Uni-debt, and to everyone else for the ideas on how to save/raise funds.

Well i royally suck  Ended up buying a wardrobe in the sale (which we do need as im sick of clothes and shoes laying around and it will create more space in the bedroom for the babys cot which im finding difficult to manouvere around with my bump :o So its a good investment but im just annoyed at myself for using my car funds to pay for it, like really really annoyed...i knew we didnt have enough spare this month in the 'monthly spends' so i just took it out of the car fund without a second thought. Anyway. Figured id go through all the clothes and shoes whilst im putting things in the new wardrobes and have a massive clearout and try and raise some funds to put back but i reckon ill be lucky to be at 20% by months end rather than 26% :(

The check in thing on quidco app that you do when you are out shopping to get 10p (argos for example) or whatever just for visiting the shop, how many times can you do that in a month/week/day etc? thinking it will really boost my cashback earnings if i did it daily for example, as there are about 6 stores in the highstreet near me, i could walk or drive down (free parking).

Calling first direct and getting a new pin so i can use my 'monthly spends' account better today and ill be chasing up 2 ebay buyers today. Got a hair appointment tomorrow and im out for a baby shower too so need to ensure i dont spend any other money tomorrow or sunday if i can help it as its going to be about £40-50 tomorrow  Oh and CTC want £160 back off me so going to try appealing i think or offering £5 a month instalments..anyone had any luck with negotiating with the tax credits? They always overpay us and each time i tell them to stop paying us in the first place as our income has increased each year and TBH its more stress than its worth. Id rather go without the £40 a month they think we are entitled to (when its more like £10 a month) and not deal with this !!!! when it happens :(
