Just listed my first item on ebay, only took half an hour, now I've done it time to route round and see what else I can find to sell.

Hi Everybody
I managed to list 77 items on ebay yesterday. I really have never done that before. Had my first bid for £40 already which is good.
When I checked my email this morning three of the listings had been taken off as I had listed Magnetixs. I really did not know they had been recalled. So I have telephoned the company and sent them an email with what we have got. So will see what happens with that.

Sarah, cancelling Experian is a pain. It took me hours of searching their website to discover that the only way to cancel it was to phone them. It's in their FAQ's somewhere.
Good luck.

I've been reading this thread for ages and decided today that I'm going to join.
I have about £3000 to pay so my 1% will be £30 which seems really do-able.
I remember reading further down the thread about people taking things to scrap yards. Do you think I could take some old venetian blinds I have up the loft?
I've just got a new car so this has taken up £100 of my disposable income for the time being (I can afford it so it's not all bad)Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

Oh dear, just posted off 2 of my textbooks that I sold on Ebay & the postage costs are double what I charged! Ebay only lets you charge up to £4 for books, and just standard they were £8.80 - first class would have been £10!! Think I better just take the rest of them off Ebay now before I lose any more money!!2019 will be my year!!0

Yes their pricing structure for books is rubbish! I know you don't get great prices from Fat Brain and Zapper but having them all go in freepost box is sometimes worth it just to get rid!0 -
Hi All,
What an inspring thread.....great idea to break down your debt in managable chunks of 1%.
On that basis, I'd like to join aswell please. Will start off with concentrating on my Halifax CC which is currently sitting at £8k. I already overpay this by £100 every month but I will view that as a bonus for now and not include in my %!
So......my 1% is £80.
Ive just received £70 cashback from moneysupermarket.com for switching fuel providers (really easy & now have cheaper gas & electric!). Ive added in £10 of my own so thats 1% already done....only 99% to go!
Ive got a load of stuff to stick on ebay over the next few days so hopefully will clear another 1-2%0 -
Had my PPI refund today (2 weeks after mailing back the offer letter) :j
Zero debts with HSBC now! One more debt down!
Since starting this I've gone from 7 to 4 debts.
With a total of £1374.31 & 3 debts cleared!
Bank charge claim going in with Ombusdman (which will be a long haul effort)
Currently working on a few little extra income projects. Am tempted to make some stuff to sell online but trying to test out ideas & see if there is a demand before I buy anything. Going to collect pre-orders before I commit!
Thanks for keeping me going guys!I really appreciate you all coming back with your updates. Frankly, because they give me a kick up the...:rotfl:
I'll be updating the list soon with our newest members!
I would encourage everyone to do an accurate check on all of their latest balances to get your newest total.
What with paying min payments and random bits of interest being added over the months, it's easy for %'s paid and what you owe to get a little out of sync.
Case in point - I thought I had paid 15% off when I checked, it was actually 17%
Sometimes it can go the other way what with charges & one off expenses but don't despair - it's far better to be working on accurate totals, with the the odd check so you know where you are!
Keep on percenting everyone!

Wow, that's a lot of work! Well done! It just goes to show, once you get the bug! Sounds like you're on a roll now, hope you get some good bids coming in.happytails wrote: »My surprise baby shower was £5 more than I budgeted but not fussed, I had a really lovely day and got spoiled rottenvery ready for baby to come now!

Hello everyone!
I've had a busy few weeks with work so I've really been neglecting doing things I should really be doing. So I've nipped on for a kick up the derriere!
Just re-downloaded your list little miss to have another browse through it, see what I can do and what I've been meaning to do but not got round to yet.
It was a rather nice feeling to total up my debts and see them coming down steadily instead of randomly jumping about all over the place, so a massive thank you!
I'm still stuck on 5% paid off actually made another percent on ebay but decided to keep it in my current account for the next week or so incase I need it for car expenses, if not then it'll be right off the cardThe debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time
