    Hello there,

I've been lurking away for a week or so thinking this over about joining in. My CC debt has been nibbling away in my head for years as I continued to ignore it. Now I have started to face up to it and have sorted out how to pay it back, my estimated DFD is 2015 which is better than a consolidation loan wI was offered by a credit card company taking it to 2017 or a DMP offered by another one. wI'm doing it my way now and paying it back myself.

Taking all this on no longer scares me and I've stopped sticking my head in the sand so now here I go on my way to making:
    1% of £11000 = £1100

Have made a start by listing 2 old wii games on ebay and will be looking to see what else can go on there - quite a bit upstairs to list!

    Here I go!

    Afternoon!
Another item on ebay sold, 99p but it all helps :)

Got a few bids and watchers on Ebay already for items ending Sunday :j Hoping i can get rid of most of them :)

Need to parcel up my recent sales and get to the post office this afternoon. Bump is giving me quite a bit of pain atm (not sure if its just tricking me or slow labour, you think id know as ive got 2 kids!!) so trying to distract myself with money saving lol

Got another Xmas present in Mothercare the other day, £20 reduced to £16 and got to the till and it scanned at £6 :T Not counting the difference to anything but just wanted to share :) (for those interested it was a Rosebud village set, they have 20% off across the range but there must be a blip on the system). Happy days!

    Hey FedUpandskint

You'll be pleased to know that your 1% is only £110 and not £1100 as you have stated in your post and signature :D

The debt is reducing already :j

(will crawl back under my lurking stone now....)

  • Hi everyone! 2% for me today, I transferred some funds out of my sharedealing account that I'm not likely to use anytime soon. They've been sitting there for about 6 months now so they might as well be put to some use!

I think this time around I will only count whole percentages - my total last time ended up being a little confusing to calculate, so if my figure doesn't come to a whole number, I'll round it down. I may find a few suprise % points this way as I near the end!

I've given myself the goal of getting these funds together by December 2013 - I don't really want to be worrying about where I'm finding the funds to do my courses after this point. Right now if I raise 8% a month, I'll hit my target. Hopefully this figure will decrease!

    Whoops, silly me! It is:
    10% then from £11,110 = £1100
that's my aim and paying off 10% means one CC will have gone forever, some headway on another and leaves 2 more to tackle after this 10% has gone

Or I could do 1% = £110 and funnel this towards CC2 - in fact this sounds a bit more sensible approach as the money will come from items I'm selling

I've had a couple of sales on Ebay so have paid a bit more to my credit card. My overdraft is also reducing, slowly but surely.

My 1% is £27 and I think my total paid is now 11% (I'm #36).

It might actually be a bigger percentage than that because I'm not really tracking my overdraft as such because it's not a separate debt, if you see what I mean. I'm just trying to spend as little as possible so it goes down. I'm tracking my CC debt with the 1% payments but hopefully that'll mean it gets cleared even quicker.

Everyone is doing so well! I was so pleased to see that my credit card is now under £2k for the first time in nearly 7 years (it was about £8k then and it's taking aaaaaaages to get rid of this debt).

    Hi everyone,

We've all been poorly bunnies in our house for what seems like ages now - we all had a really nasty sickness bug so that has laid me low for quite a while so I will have to sit down tonight and read up on all the posts I have missed whilst I've been gone.

I thought I would post my good news now though - my car tax refund came through and I have had a few sales from my website and craft fairs I have struggled to so:-

Now I've got to think about a new target as I don't want to leave the thread - its so motivating and full of lovely people :D

Not got much done since last posted. Checked my equifax and experian and still waiting for 1 thing to be updated. Sending off cancellation letters today (hoping to avoid calling as with 2 young 'uns its never easy!)

Got a cheque for £8 through today so thats something!! Though im not counting anything until the month has ended due to putting such a whopping amount aside at the start of the month (£710 to overdraft and £250 to CC).

We are off to soft play today, got a savers card so its only £1 per child, well worth it to tire them out :) No more pregnancy pains today so need to be productive in Ebaying/FB selling or decluttering/tidiying :)
