Manchester is included, yes. Select Doncaster/Sheffield from the destination airport list, then Manchester from the destination drop-down list.

You do not need to fly with EasyJet!

    Hi all :o)

I am sitting in the lounge bar of the Thistle Inverness typing this on my PDA!
If I remember rightly Dusan is coming here from tomorrow?
    I checked in yesterday.

The weather up here has been glorious (even today), although my reservation with EJH was 'room only' the receptionist said breakfast is included.... bonus!

I have just got back from Loch Torridon and the Isle Of Skye. If anyone is thinking of coming to this hotel be sure to do that trip, it's breathtaking (Dusan - I can wholly recommend it!).
I got a bit worried though when my exhaust started rattling at the far end of Skye, with 132 miles back to the hotel! Got here with it still on though (at least... I didn't hear it fall off anyway!).
The hotel isn't much to look at from outside (flyover & railway track behind & dual carriageway in front), but it is fine inside. bar is friendly enough, which is great as I am alone :o(

    Anyway, back to my wine.
Happy hotel hunting all of you!! :o)

    Caz x

I would just like to say a huge thank you to the op and all the regular contributors of this thread. I have been an ardent reader of this, and the previous thread, for about the last 7 weeks and, although not for the want of trying, I have not managed to book anything yet. (I'm pretty tied to school holidays and haven't yet been able to get the right combination of cheap flights with cheap/free accommodation for when I am free.)

However, a friend told me her & her dh were wanting to get a cheap weekend away in before us & them go to Prague at Spring Bank. (We already have accommodation booked but if anyone knows of anything that looks good under the Easyjethotel loophole, please do let me know. I couldn't find anything when I was looking.) Anyway, she was looking at various places in this country but nothing was coming up cheap for the criteria they were after. She then told me they were thinking of going back to Edinburgh. "Aha", I said, "I think I can help you out there".

So, to cut a long story short (sorry about the ramble) she has booked the Holyrood and has had a claim accepted against Holiday Nights. (We weren't sure they would accept this because their description was just 'B&B' as opposed to Easyjethotel's 'Bed & full Scottish Breakfast' but we did have a back up of Hotel Pronto, although this was significantly higher but still a good saving.) For the two nights she is going to be paying £42.?? and she is absolutely delighted at this especially as she thought she would end up paying about £200 for this standard.

Just one final question, although the claim has been accepted against Holiday Nights, after the refund, she will be paying £8 more than we thought she would be (we worked it out that she would pay £34.??) and we can't think of a reason why. (The Hotel Pronto price was a lot more than this.) I have told her she should query it with Easyjethotels but I don't think she will do.

Once again, on behalf of my friend and myself, thanks for such a fantastic thread.

People have been denied in the past because of something like "river view". If you call the hotel and verify that all rooms are river view, then you can probably eventually get your claim, however you'll probably be denied at first. If there's a safer claim to make, even if it's a little more money, I'd do that instead!

  • Hello
Does anyone know if Alpha-rooms.com has been accepted recently as I notice in the terms and conditions that the company must be UK bonded. I'm nervous to put in a bit and be declined because of the small print!
    Many thanks
