I am assuming I do this via device manager? as I have just done so and each driver was searched rather quickly saying I had the latest driver.
Better to check the manufacturers' sites for the various pieces of hardware - windows update in 7 has a very good drive database, but it's not necessarily up to date, nor is it comprehensive.0 -
@ the OP.
Did you do an in place upgrade or a clean install ?
An in place upgrade will leave a lot of XP device drivers and subsystems running in a compatibility mode on your system if it can't find/can't update with Win 7 code. This may also cause a significant performance drop.0 -
No, I done a clean install. I am looking at Dell site now to see about drivers. It thinks I have a XP still0

Okay cool.0

Note: Intel may also provide drivers for your chipset but I only suggest going there as a last resort.0

@debitcardmayhem: The programs seems to open up quite quickily, however things like downloading from the web seem to be very slow. Some web pages open in a heartbeat others can drag its heels a bit. I take on board that my RAM may be a shortfall. I try not to have too much crap on my laptop as I spend a lot of time on it.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Based on your comment above my favourite is DNS or your ISPOriginally Posted by dx052

Anyway, according to this:http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Latitude%20D630&Cat=RAM
I can upgrade up 8GB Ram 2 slots - 4GB Ram each
Your machine will only 'see' 4 GB of that because it is only 32-bit.0
