Hi
Very quick question, how on earth do I explain to my boyfriend of only a few months that I can't afford to do everything he can.
Bare in mind he has never ever been in debt seems to save money with ease.

I find that telling the truth would be best all round. If he has never been in debt & seems to save money it must be that he earns more than you or could possibly running debts up himself,Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0

just say you cant afford to go out; you havent got the money. I do this all the time with people when people want to go for coffees and so on. What! not even £5! thats right I say I cant afford it. Its easy once you get started.0

Like everyone else has suggested....honesty
suggest a move night at yours or his rather than going out? Once you tell a little white lie, the rest just come naturally so it's best to tell him the truth.

Movie night is a slight issue, I'm currently living at home before I move to london and he lives with his friend and only has a telly in the living room without a dvd player.
Plus I feel bad being there too much due to his housemate.Total Debt: £4610.75

So find cheaper things to do. Orange Wednesdays, quiet walks in the park could be good (if the rain ever stops), cheap pincics at weekends, look up free events, apply for tickets to things like BBC recordings...
Cook dinner at home and include his housemate? Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Does living at home stop you doing this?
My boyfriend lodged with a family before we moved in together and I was there 6 out of 7nights a week, find out if the housemate minds: i'm pretty sure he won't.
If not, look up free things to do on the internet.0 -
We live 25 miles away from each other he does not drive my parents live in the middle of no where and public transport is rubbish, and he is not allowed to stay at mine.

Definitely just tell him you don't have a money tree in the garden and need to find cheaper/free things to do. Surely as you are both so new together, just the mere fact of your company is enough?:)Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!:eek:0
