Advice on "bulk certificate of posting"

On these forms, what part do I, the seller/customer, fill out?
Is there anything on there that I must fill out at the counter or can it all be done at home?
Also, can you add freepost items to the form, or should they be done via their tills?
Also, why does it have "number of items" when the number of items is clearly labeledat the side for each item?
Thanks.

I just fill in the name, first line of the address and postcode. You put in the total number of items as you may be sending less than the form will take. This stops people adding extra items later to make false claims. I fill the form in at home to save time at the PO.
The PO clerk puts their initials and stamps it with the date and office. Some POs are very fussy and tick off each individual item to make sure the list tallies with the parcels.0 -
Does the seller fill in the name or the person with the stamp?0

I fill in everything. They just need to date stamp and initial the form.marking_bad wrote: »Does the seller fill in the name or the person with the stamp?0 -

Was told differently again today, anyone have more info?0

By who? I'm sure the PO staff would prefer you to fill it in!!marking_bad wrote: »Was told differently again today, anyone have more info?
I always filled it in before visiting the post office - did it like that every day for months and months before I moved to a business account.0 -
Filled what in? Its the bottom section that seems to be causing confusion.0

The bottom section should be filled in by you, the PO staff can then initial and stamp it.0

I used to fill out all of it, except the stamp. There would be no harm in leaving the 'number of items' blank as it will only take a second for the PO staff to complete that bit.marking_bad wrote: »Filled what in? Its the bottom section that seems to be causing confusion.
As said above, depending on the PO, some will just accept it and stamp it, others will check everything you have written and that the addresses match the parcels.0 -
What exactly do you put in service used? Just "1st", "2nd" or "FreePost" ?0
