Whoops , just came back to see I went off that Citigo after seeing the ad on tv and saw this - it was about £9 extra p month for us - in Aug it'll be another £3.50 plus all the extra running cos of kids hols Actually it was Martin who said it (he was spot on, tho ours is a bit less only because we are absolute petrol misers - Have to be!)
Cant post link but title was Petrol prices hit record high.0 -
OP how about answering some of the questions or I will assume this post is SPAM and report it as such

Citigo/Up/SEAT alternative - all the same underneath
Fabia/VW Polo/SEAT Ibiza/Audi A1 (to a certain extent) - all the same underneath. The Polo's tag line is "Small but tough" so you can imagine the safety rating.
IMHO, the Citigo etc is for city driving, nothing too far. You won't get the published mpg though - Auto Express did a long term test and they were well short.
I have a friend who works for a VW dealership and he says they can't get the Up in quick enough, they're flying out the doors. They're priced competitively to get as many units out the door as possible. That way, the company co2 average drops, allowing them to sell more premium, large engined vehicles (where the money is) without bringing the company co2 average up.. there's a certain average amount they have to be by a set date, I can't remember what it is though!!LBM - 11/08
DMP - 12/08 - £37,255
DFD - [STRIKE]03[/STRIKE] 02/13 - [STRIKE]£6,454[/STRIKE] £3916 to go! (Unless my PPI & FOS claims are upheld, then it'll be earlier!)0 -

If MPG is all you care about then get an electric car. They do infinite miles to the gallon. All at a cheap rate of electricity.DecentLivingWage wrote: »cos of petrol price hike in august mpg is all i care about apart from safety so wow thanks for the info Im going to research the Up now Apparently gov are going to claw back the pricing advantage at the moment so we never see it Sorry about lack of detail I have to use my phone for posts!:footie:
