If the OP wants to be taken seriously on these forums, they should explain how they reached the figure of £3.62 a litre for petrol."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I have no idea what this thread is about. But unless you're currently driving a 5.0l V8 petrol returning 8pmg, I suspect that the cost of switching cars will massively outweigh any economy savings you'll make.
If you want advice on whether it's viable, you should state the following :
What car are you currently driving - age, engine size, petrol or diesel , current MPG and approx current value
What age of Skoda you plan to buy and how much do you plan to spend
How many miles you travel per year and where they are done - short city trips or all on the motorway
If you plan to change cars it's always a good idea to try and get a car with good fuel economy, but to change cars for the sole reason of getting better mpg is generally not viable (there are of course exceptions).0 -

There are many other reviews on the Citigo also. It is a cheaper (albeit by only £500.00) version of the VWup and I believe there is or will be a SEAT version in the pipeline too. But if you are only looking to upgrade because of the fuel costs then JQ's post is the most relevant.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -

I know, I want to see his sums :shocked:0 -
Interestingly Sainsbury's cut another 3p off the price of petrol in Aberdeen between Monday and Tuesday, it's now 126.9p per litre, the lowest it's been for quite a while.0

yaay, thats the kind of answer I'm looking for! Thanks. So its called the citigo - I had heard about it but when I went on Skoda site only saw octavia and fabia. Now I can look up petrol fuel economy. No i wouldnt change for the sake of it, but my v old 306 will go pretty soon and I wont have a choice. Time to research is now when i still have time so I wont be rushed into a decision and before they hike up the petrol duty for No Good Reason! Petrol is supposed to be cheaper since supplies in Libya were back on stream but I bet govt takes chance to slide in increase anyway!0 -
£3.62? Sounds like someone just trying to grab attention for their topic.
You can't work out petrol to £3.62 a litre by using other costs. Per mile maybe but per litre not really. What a daft topic title.
Just how did you reach £3.62 per litre? - You've been asked a couple of times yet you've refused to explain this.0 -
looks like a TROLL to me
I have no idea what the OP is on0 -

Servicing costs and spares avaliability/costs not an issue?0 -
So, how does you wanting a skoda mean that petrol is going the be £3 a litre? Or was that just some random figure you picked to look interesting before you decided, actually, your not, and now you can't explain where it come from?0
