Petrol Price Increase Could Mean £3.62 Per Litre

Conservative's petrol duty increase in August - yet another 3p - thinking of changing car - what does anyone know about the new little Skoda? (Dont laugh!!) Fuel economy etc - oh, and crash safety, the 2 most important things for me, couldn't care less in this terrible new recession what it looks like! Any thoughts?

    £3.62 per litre?
  • £3.62 per litre?

Yes , sorry, when I worked it out with everything else! This could be the last straw in terms of being worth it getting to work, child care costs etc. Want better fuel economy but not at expense of car strength/safety.

So, have you worked out how much you actually spend on fuel now?

Make up your mind - are you here to ask for advice, or to debate politics/economics?

I suggest you either have a thread about your 3.62, or you have a thread about your car choice.
  • Dont want to tell you - it's too embarrassing! Mix n Match driving/car sharing/family railcard and 'Not Going Out !' ie as little as poss (some weeks £6!)

What calculations did you use to come up with the £3.62 figure?

I wouldn't buy fuel from Skoda if its £3.62 a litre.

I wouldn't but on if the continue to call it Sk ODD A

    Its a Sk OH da.

Have been tempted by the Octavia's reliability though, Its a bit smaller than the Mondeo though.

Does that include the bottle of sherry you necked before posting?

I'm still interested how you arrive at £3.62?

Could you give a few details on this bit:
Yes , sorry, when I worked it out with everything else!
How did you work it out and what's
    everything else
    ?
