Secure Trust have the same system of giving the account a new number at maturity.
As I've said before there is far more to selecting a new ISA provider than just picking one with a good interest rate.
I agree. My criteria include headroom for ISA growth/transfers within the FSCS limits, customer service, accessibility and ease of transfer service - obviously the last is an unknown with a new provider, but I might look more favourably on a past provider with a proven transfer process vs one that is not yet a known quantity.

This coming year I’ve had three candidates in mind. At present all my three candidates remain on the market. I’m leaning towards the least favourable rate, still competitive in its niche, as it is fixed rather than variable, and because I know the provider has a proven transfer process in both directions, and is always accessible in its contact methods, which gives peace of mind (especially given that a full year’s ISA subscription in itself is not a trivial sum).

One of the other providers has been good contact accessibility-wise, but is untried ISA-wise, and the 3rd, with the best market rate out of the 3, is an unknown quantity on both those counts.

(I find this forum with users’ experiences very useful as part of my research, as I can imagine documented troubles with transfers being 100 times worse if they can’t be resolved easily by phone call!)

I've opened a 1yr fixed ISA with Zopa (already have the easy access) but have 30 days to fund it, just in case something better comes along. It's beginning to look doubtful, though.
