Are they saying that whatever number you put in there will not be taken from the linked bank account details you provide then?
When OH applied online she put down £1000. In the confirmation email today it says you have to fund it within 14 days either via bank transfer to a specific initial funding account with KR or by cheque. She wants to fund it intially from a savings account, she will then set up a SO from her nominated account to her new account details which they should send once she has made the initial deposit. that is really strange, fingers crossed all will be ok with mine, still showing on my account as open with the number applied for and shows as open, will see what happens when they receive the isa transfer form i have posted.I have had another thought though, noticed this post https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4916125 about a maturing virgin isa and options being offered by virgin at maturity by that OP, the rates and dates match, so wondering if instead of being one everyone can apply to it is meant for existing customers instead??0

That would explain it.
thanks, yep that looks to be it, as the op of the other post has replied and confirmed and they are the same issue numbers.
will see what happens, worse case senario is will have to move the money to another isa if they close it, presumably if they intend to close it, they won't process the isa transfer form that was posted on thursday night.
fingers crossed they keep it opened, will be interesting to see what happens, i will keep logging into virgin isa over the next few days to see if any changes.
i wonder how the others accounts are doing that opened them? as i think there were a few of us that used the link in the post to apply for the virgin isa's. Looking at the T&Cs for that issue and nothing in there about being only for other certain customers, prexisting customers, so hopefully that will be in our favour.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
Regarding the Virgin fixed ISA 2% - phoned this morning and asked what was going on, it is supposed to be for existing customers finishing their current ISA, I was told that because it was on their site although not advertised I was ok to carry on and fund the two I opened Saturday.0

A better option than the 2% 2-year fix at Lloyds could be the 2-year tracker ISA from KRBS....
http://www.krbs.com/products/savings-and-isas/isas/tracker-isa/two-year-tracker-isa-issue-5/
The KRBS ISA tracks at base rate plus 1.51% (so is currently 2.01%), so if base rates go up, so will the rate. Of course in the unlikely event that the base rate goes down, so will the rate on the account! A nice feature, is that the KRBS tracker allows additional deposits and transfers-in at any time. There is a 180 day interest penalty on withdrawals however.
Tracker Issue 5 withdrawn. Replaced with Issue 6 a 2 year tracker at only 1.5%. (1% above base rate)0 -

I can confirm this is true as I'm an exsiting Virgin ISA customer... they sent out an e-mail regarding issues 65/66/67... they only appear if you go via the special link (or if you're an existing online user you can apply that way too). Though it sounds like Virgin aren't too bothered if you're not an existing customer :-) According to my e-mail, they are available only until 5th April 2014 - so should be available for a few more weeks yet.0 -

That'll teach me to read the end of the e-mail, then!0
