Principality B/S seem to be changing their ISA rates on the run!! Went in yesterday re transferring to their 3 year fix from BM Savings ISA and was told that 3 yr fix at 2.25% and 5 yr fix at 2.9% have been withdrawn - no replacement for 3 yr fix but issue 125 (5 yr fix) now available at 2.5% !
This follows on reduction on 2 year fix rate earlier in the week.

Looks like a good substitute for those toying with the idea of the Leeds 5-yr fixed (before it was pulled). Should yield the equivalent of about 2.0% pa after 18 months if rates are rising by then. (No penalty-free allowance in this case, however :()

Yesterday I spent a long time researching ISAs and looked at Virgin Money. These did not show up at all. Even now, they are not showing up on the website. I even rang them as I wanted to clarify something else on my account and asked what was the best current rate. According to him it was 1.5% - I am guessing he was referring to issue 7. How would one have found these had you not posted here??

Its strange that they dont seem to be available via their savings page. Still for a 1 year fix accepting transfers in, its not bad.

Have opened one as a backup as you have 30 days to fund it after they pull it.

I have done the same just in case, as am looking for a hope for my maturing santander isa, glad i have opened it as defiantly won't be getting santander to re-designate it. It is a good job that the link was added to this forum as god knows how you would find them otherwise!

Very weird - just done a google search for Virgin ISA issue 65 and only one PDF file comes up. This is not some phantom ISA is it? It doesn't show anywhere except from the link that has been posted. Where did the link come from? Still don't understand why the guy at their office did not mention it to me when I asked for the choices that I had??

So if I open one, I have 30 days to fund it - is that 30 days from opening it or 30 days after they pull it? Does it also mean that I will not be able to transfer my another ISA whose rate tumbles to 0.5% in June 2014?
    Thanks in advance.
