The minimum opening balance for this ISA was £1,000. It dropped to £1 earlier this week. If you do spot anything on the thread that needs updating a PM would be nice - what with so many ISA updates to do at this time of year, it would really help. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
Alliance & Leicester:
- 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA
Balances above £9,000 EARN 3.05% gross p.a./AER fixed until 1 March 2011. Balances below £9,000 earn 2.65% gross p.a./AER fixed until 1 March 2011.
That looks a good deal for 1 year fixed rate. Is that the best currently available? I have over 9k, its sitting in an RBS account earning very little.
What A & L online accounts like? can you transfer online too?
Im going to look into this more today when I have some time later.
Edit - doh ive just realised you have to visit local branch

How long ago was that? A friend of mine opened with a balance of £100 last May so I am not certain this is a recent change.0 -

I click on the links that feature in the list at least once a week to ensure that the information is kept as up-to-date as possible. The last time I checked the links before my 12th February post, was the 1st Feb and Standard Life's website was still showing a £1,000 minimum opening deposit for this ISA.
It's possible that your friend may have applied for an earlier issue of this ISA, but looking at the backups of the list, I have the minimum opening deposit as being £1,000 during last year. The only other thing I can think of is that Standard Life may have neglected to update their website with the reduced minimum opening deposit. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
Thanks for all the efforts you go to - I find your thread really valuable and is my first point of call before I go off and do some digging around for myself. And even if I'm not looking for a home for my money at that point - I still check with you regularly 'cause I just like to know what's going on in the world of ISA's0

I asked Abbey yesterday about transfering out my Direct ISA with them, they said that a new ISA will be announced in the next couple of weeks with a better rate. Hmmmm will wait til 1st March, then I'll need to transfer.0

I'm looking for an ISA with a good fixed rate that will allow me to transfer money in at anytime, are there any such ISA's available?
Thanks0
