  • Im sure your gf wouldnt mind if you had one of the following dirty diseases: Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Herpes or Genital warts. I hope your gf finds out and leaves you. Your dishonesty to her stinks.

This really is not very helpful. I am sure we have all done things in the past, when we were younger, that we now regret, and would not dream of doing again. Sometimes these things lead to bad occurrences, which is what MIGHT have happened in this case. It is this attitude that often puts people (particularly young people) off seeking help for health problems which can lead to serious consequences. These diseases (whether or not this is what the OP is referring to) can potentially be caught by anyone who is sexually active (even the first time). You do not have to be 'dirty' in any sense of the word, and being ill is not something to be ashamed of.

The simple thing is to write to the insurance company explaining whatever you did or had on a separate piece of paper explaining why the answer was no that should have been yes. Im sure the insurance company are used to STD's, Experimenting with ones gay side, fancying a good looking moose etc
Who I am is not important. What I do is.
  • Well it is too late now as my g/f has sent the papers today before I got home from work
Maybe I will get in touch with them and explain the situation or go and have a chat with my doctor and see information they will actually be asking for. Thanks to all the guys help on here and I bet the only reason the guy had a mardy over STD's is because he is full of them after going to see ladies of the night due to his inability to get his own girlfriend without paying for one

Still if your girlfriend finds out now you may discover how good the insurance is. Either that or I hope you are buying a 2 bed house as you will need the spare room
I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)

You have a Duty of Disclosure, and this could make your policy invalid

so you do need to contact them

yep. Your policy is invalid and will probably be rejected after searching through your medical history.

Suggest you to get two separate single policies.... Cancel that one.

Simply write to the Chief Medical Officer at the insurance company saying that you were not comfortable disclosing the information in front of broker / GF, but they needed to be aware of it for your application and you have fulfilled your disclosure duty.

If you are rated though and it is anything to do with your history I would have thought your GF will at least ask you why you have to pay more as the insurance company will not tell her.

As the others have said, why not 2 policies? More or less the same cover usually for similar premium. Very popular with young couples, more cover at an age where you are cheaper and in future you then have 'family cover' in place. Give the insurance company a call and see if they are able to change the application to singles.

Good Luck, but maybe you want to be honest with her anyway?
