Recieved empty envelope.

i don't think it could have been caused by it being mangled in the sorting machines. That wouldn't cause a straight slit all the way across the envelope, would it?0

it does sound slightly strange ....however i recently heard about a postie getting suspended as someone complained about items going missing. it turned out to be the claimant fraudulently filing (we have a pretty good SS at royal mail). Moral : don't automatically assume its the postie - in this case it could be the seller trying it on. I dont know many of the lads who would risk their jobs for a stupid bit of blue plastic anywayI'm afraid I was very, very drunk.0 -
Yeah, the first thing i thought when i saw that it was open and empty was that the seller could have just sent an empty envelope, but it's not very likely i suppose, as he has quite good feedback.0

If you really want one that much i'll steal one from work :rotfl:
seriously - we get blamed all the time and carry the can for every discrepancy eben though 9 times out of 10 its not our fault. In your case i would say you have a reasonable claim, let me know what happensI'm afraid I was very, very drunk.0 -
i have a fantastic postman who would go out his way to help in anyway he can .. even non related to the royal mail.. if i had a envelope that was damaged he would knock the door to let me know he had picked it up like that and when he has finished his rounds and anything at the bottom of his bag he will come back to me to see if its mine..royal mail dont get it right all the time and i think some people will use this for there own gain.. as for when there is competion for the mail... just remember what has happened on the railways etc.. prices are sky high and standards are at the lowest they can get...Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
Co incidentally, I got one of the black and white Nike bands in the post this morning and it was actually poking out of the envelope. Another few minutes and it would have fallen out into the posties bag. The postie knocked and handed it over to me pointing out that there didn't appear to be any letter or return address or anything in the envelope and I was lucky to have got it in one piece.
I'm just wondering where the other band bought from a different seller is now.....

who also doubles up as a QC?

OOPS !!!!
guilty as charged
seriously tho - most of these bands are being posted in normal correspondence envelopes
u can tell what they are just by looking at or feeling the env.
and not all Royal Mail employees are honest, lets face it
they know there is a demand for these things at the mo.
and if someone they know is after one....
so in a way it is partly the sellers fault for not packaging the band well enough

Yeah, they should have put it in a small jiffy bag like the other seller did.0

Here here! stop that Bloomin "postie" on here ranting at me at the mere suggestion! he may be very trustworthy but there is a many out there who isn't! just this christmas my friend had to go to court as this "Postie" had a cheque that was in my friends' name at her house along with a load of other stolen items from the post! the cheque was a present from her grandma and the postie was greedy! so excuse me if I am a bit "fly" at pointing the finger!
My stepdad was a postman - I think that in the "olden days" (about 5-10yrs ago) it was classed as a respectable and important job! but nowadays the royal mail is taking on younger peeps and basically anyone who wants the job! ....uh oh here comes another ear bashing!!

No ear - bashing at all - you're exactly right. The standard of person employed to be a postperson is falling due to the standard of the job falling due to people sending away for/tolerating so much junk. The system is overloaded - we are carrying 40-45% more mail now than we were 4 years ago. An average day now is like the worst christmas pressure day of 15 years ago.
On average i carry out 6 bags of mail per day all weighing in excess of 16 kilos. (16 kilos is our max weight limit under H&S but just not realistic these days). Maybe you can understand why it boils my p**s when i come on here and see people sending away for stuff 'for the sake of it' or 'cos its free'.
Simple advice. If everybody did something about their junk mail - the problems with important mail would at least halve.
You lot think you got it bad now..............just wait til the market opens in 2006 - remember where you heard this first
I'm afraid I was very, very drunk.0
