Good Morning All
Didn't catch up with the thread yesterday as was out all day - having a busy weekend. Yesterday was DS's football tournament, well it was very windy & a little wet
then last night we had father in laws th birth70day party, was ok but the worst buffet food I have ever eaten (and is wasn't cheap)
Today am helping out with the barbecue at the 2nd day of the football tournament and then have a football presentation at 3.30 - weather at the moment is bright & sunny  hopefully it will last.
Not sure what is for dinner as really no idea what time will be home. House is looking very messy
but OH is staying at home and hopefully will get some tidying done.
Nothing else to report, have to be truthful and say that I am looking forward to everyone going back to school/college tomorrow so I can reclaim my house.
Hope you all have a lovely day.x0 -
morning all.
all i can say about yesterdays thread is what a brave man :rotfl:
had a really good nights sleep last night so feeling full of energy today. just as well really as i've a busy-ish day. my friend and her hubby and boy are coming round for dinner and helping hubbyto finish the hallway. he finished the last of the painting last night so just hte flooring to go down today and move the fishtank back out there and get pics back up on the wall etc.
need to have a tidy around before they arrive though. well as much as i can. bending/standing/sitting/walking is rather uncomfortable at the mo. i have pain where there shouldnt be pain  will see gp or midwife on monday about it. this pregnancy is giving me a battering thats for sure  still it'll be worth in around 18 weeks time...
so lambhotpot for dinner followed apple and cinnamon crumble with either custard or ice cream.
tappers - enjoy the seaside
sistercas - hope dd's exams go well
hugs to all who want/need them"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Morning all,
Been lurking for a few days, reading but not posting. One of our kittens went missing so the house of Pooky wasn't a happy one. He returned after three days, very tired, hungry and skinny....he's not left my side since and hasn't stopped purring.
Sympathies to all those with Grumpy men, DH would be like that at weekends when he was working but since he's been home full time for the past three years we've found we irritate each other less.
I'm full of snotty, sneezy cold so not a lot done aside from the basics, my parents visited yesterday and Dad chopped loads of wood for me and worked out a fix for my garage roof that's leaking. Mum brought me some sewing patterns, tomato plants and a bag of frozen bits that were the other half of BOGOFs...bless her, they never come empty handed. Mind you they went with a boot full of pots and planters I don't need and a huge printer that Dads been saving up for (we picked it from from Freecycle - not working, but Dad is a whizz with these things and will have it up and running in no time). I won't see them before fathers day so I made him a huge batch of chilli to take home (mum won't cook "foreign" food).
DD1 will be cooking today, sausages, new lots and veg. DD2 has dance show rehearsals so will be at school most of the day.
I've currently got 4 cats on the bed with me, think they're hinting it's time I got up and left the bed to them!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning all. Was fantasising about winning 8 million on the lottery as i soaked in the bath. Absolutley no idea why 8 mill and since i dont do the lottery even less likely than me getting to target weight by xmas :rotfl: think it might be due to youngest just about to go to uni and now wanting to do me things but work getting in the way. Mind set change needed methinks. 50 is fast approaching. Have made one resolution-no talking about work at the weekend. Failed miserably yesterday but that was only the first day. Half of me wants to be a hippy with no shoes, no responsibilities and a vw campervan, the other half wants to get the children through uni with no debt, the windows replaced and drive a volvo estate :rotfl: does anyone else have this dr jeckyll mr hyde complex?20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5000

[QUOTE=Hardup Hester;
just for you DEL, I shall still be paying MY half of all the bills even though it means selling everything that isn't nailed down. Me? Annoyed? Never, certainly rattled my cage didn't he.[/COLOR]

Well said, as someone who bought her dd up alone from about 18 months, with no financial help from her dad for the first 5 years, and still paid off a mortgage, and got in no debt, without claiming benefits, but by going out to a b****y hard job at 5.15 every morning, I found his attitude completely disrespectful
Anyhoo not going to waste any more of my time on him, bedding in in the wm, will hang it out if we can.
Not too much housework to do today, just a general tidy round. Most of it was done yesterday.
Dinner will be some cold chicken, with maybe a burger, and fried new spuds for the others, and some salad, I shall just have the meat and some veg.
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -

Hi all,
Sorry to hear some of you are having hard times - HH (hugs)
Didn,t wake up till 9 this morning, which is unheard of, WM on, going to have to put it on the airer as its grey and damp outside.
Back to work tomorrow after a week off, don,t feel very rested, has been a stressful week for reasons I can,t go into, but hey ho, life has a way of kicking you in to doo-dads when you think your getting straight....
Forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer for todays dinner, so will have to have a rummage through the kitchen to. Ome up with an alternative, possible toad in the hole, will defrost sausages in the micro.
DD is in a major strop as she died her hair from bright red to dark brown and apparently the world will now come to an end as there is no way she can go out in public now
I must get my bum into gear and put some stuff on ebuy - have a vita-mix that i,ve barley used, but may try and get rid of it locally as will cost a fortune to post.
Have a fab Sunday all xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Hi there all, warm and dry here at the moment so Jack and I had a good walk. He is so happy because DD is home, he's her dog really but because she has been at Uni we've looked after him. House is a tip, upstairs looks like a division of Blockb***ters, DD has so many DVDs. Also her stuff is everywhere as she has to find homes for it all. I'm not stressing, I'm back to school tomorrow and she is ace at tidying and cleaning.:j
Hugs to all in need, Hilstep you are so kind to do that for your DD , it will make a big difference to her to come back to a tidy home.
Pooky glad your kitten came back, my sisters have just moved and 2 of their cats went missing at the old house, luckily they enticed one out and are hoping to find the other today.
JayneB good luck with the fundraising and hope your DS is doing well.
Have a good day all, hope the sun shines.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

What a pain! My dy*son died earlier in the year and I replaced it with a cheap little thing from C*rrys, it had good reviews and was going to be a standby but it's fab, the amount of stuff it picked up off the rugs and stairs was shocking considering I'd only done them the previous day with the old one. It was £36 and I won't bother replacing it with anything more expensive. (we have solid floors throughout with carpet on the stairs only and area rugs so it's ideal for us)"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
