It was not insufficient cleaning at all! Dog hair migrates when you're not looking, like cat hair which attaches itself to the carpet with velcro..Nothing sold on my fleabay listings,Oh well, will try once more and that's it. I thought the L Ashley curtains would have done well.
Declutterd 10 flies in the bedroom, have no idea why there were so many, so a bit spooked....yuk...
LIR, without saying too much, I know what you mean....:o:cool:
I had no takers when I tried selling DS2's high sleeper bed, but was inundated when I gave in & put it on Fr33gle... Grrr.0 -
After reading this thread I did get on one today re cleaning and tidying. house looks LOADS better.
Cleaned the conservatory - sorted out house plants and cleared away all the crap, looks 100% better. my room also has had a big tiday up too. still got a long way to go! but feeling much better!
thank you again Jojo xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
I took the tetra packs & glass down to MrS yesterday & returned a carrier bag of stuff that had been cluttering up the hall-stand, waiting for me to return it - not much done as the tetra packs & glass have a home to live in, but it's amazing how quickly they mount up.
I think another of my stumbling blocks is anything I have to do something to - like the clothes that were sitting at the top of the stairs waiting for DS2 to try them on, & I wanted him to try them on before I took the other stuff back to MrS in case they needed to go back too, then I needed to have time to go to MrS instead of MrM... Clothes I know are ok tend to be put away quickly, if we're giving them away, if we're giving them away, I can throw them in a bag & chuck in the clothing bank at Scouts. (Note that I said can, but I will next time.)0 -
It is so much a theme of all the posts that the method of getting stuff out of your houses is getting in the way of actually getting rid of it - that's hoarder thinking - we need to get to the situation where it's either there or it's gone. My main reason for putting it in the recycle bin is that it is collected twice as often as the landfill
Does anything actually sell on eBay these days - when we looked into it there were mountains of listings with "0 bids"You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Here's my latest progress:

I had a very busy weekend! As I also washed dishes, cooked meals from scratch, cleaned the toilet, cleaned the bathroom sink and the mirror and cut OH's hair. Phew!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Don't feel bad! My own hair (which is quite long) seems to love accumlating in corners of rooms, along with dust. It very quickly becomes a ball of dust and hair (ick!). Seriously, it seems to take less than a week to accumlate! And don't get me started on the hairs that decide to live on the rug!!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

I think it has to be about the method to a degree.
I do not produce much rubbish, of which i have been proud, but this is partly because i am so slow to bish richard.
I think a lot of people have reduced.. Whether by necessity or otherwise, what the throwbut not necessarily what comes in to the house.
I thi not hoarding is more a what comes in that a what goes out issue in the longterm instance.
Just done a walk round about what can be saved. I was initially quite keen to preserve the kitchen units, (a friend of mine had the exact same kitchen which she ripped out over thirty years ago ) and i saiD today....chuck it. If we reuse some in the temporary kitchen great, other wise....i am not going to weep for it. I don't like it, and painting it when we bought helped a bit, but certainly did not turn it into the kitchen of my dreams!
The loo likewise, can go. ( finally got all the limescale off about a month ago:rotfl: but the sinks......an old belfast and a younger china one i want to keep. More going than staying though, and a sense of relief about not having to try and fit the decrepid kitchen in the farm feed room...cannot promise i will not be tempted to reuse when i see it in the skip....0 -

I have long hair too, but seem to keep it up more and more often. I have thyroid problems, and curly hair, so only ever tease it our with fingers, comb or brush, in the bath, where i get handfuls of it sometimes, like a rat sized amount. Its horrid.:o. It also gums up the cat and dog head of the vacuum, and i spend abput twenty monutes a week with the vacuum head and a pair of scissors cutting it free from hair.0 -

I don't bother putting books or DVDs on there any more unless they are selling for more than £3 (I check recent sold prices for things before putting them on) as I don't think it's worth it and just take straight to the charity shop.
We have been selling a large collection of Warhammer 40k games and figures - these can go for a lot of money. One 1" figure sold for over £30 and we had a game that sold for £80  .
I am currently selling a few low end "designer" brand clothing accessories (Hugo Boss, Radley etc) and have loads of interest in these things also.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Blossom, I used to sell on fleabay as a business, not that long ago in fact. I have improved somewhat since this thread, in not hanging onto stuff until it sells, the curtains and one other item were put on as I am broke, and hoped to make a quick buck...:rotfl:but it didn't happen, so will try once more and then move the stuff on. I had to borrow from my DD which is mortifying to me.
