:rotfl: that's given me the first giggle of the day then.....I think it's the utter disbelief that they won't work

    :D

I actually searched on the net to see if there was any use for them before I bit the bullet and threw them out. :o

I found 2 Vodafone ones that didn't seem to have a date on them AND I found a TMobile £10 top up scratch card thing that I didn't even know I had. As soon as my phone charges, I'm going to try it. Today's decluttering might have made me £10 better off. :D

    Break time !

Hey byatt , how is the kitchen going ?

Well all the tins of paint except one are gone , have replaced this box space with all the plant pots I had under kitchen sink (not actually sure why I have kept them as don't really have many plants now due to mad cat eating them ) , but at least it is something out.
I have bags and bags......full of other bagsi always find this space particularly horrid as I never really want to throw anything out and just end up re-arranging it and get stressed it all won't fit in again.
I resisted the urge to go through the boxes of xmas balls as would have been on for ever and would probably have spent all day looking at them and not chucking anything out , will re-evaluate xmas stuff in january. Only two xmas trees in there which is ok (others must be stuffed at ex's somewhere !)
After this break am going to attack top drawer of chest of drawers in there...it's full of present wrapping stuff and it won't close.

The cat is loving it , she loves a bit of chaos and stuff all over the hall to hide behind or jump into , I can hear her crashing around amongst it as I type.
One more bodywarmer to be cat-flapped or binned, and a backpack bag thing well past its best. There is stuff all over the hall and now kitchen is a bit of a mess as loads of stuff fell out of cupboards getting to plant pots........sigh.
I am going into the cupboard again!

    Good luck all de-richarding
    Onward and outward:)
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Stuff going in the recycling bin and lots of bits for the bin, plus one box for CS...

sorted through some paperwork, the kitchen is daunting. Just not enough room no matter what I do, so some more serious getting rid of stuff.

edit, just sorted through some Xmas decs, and whittled them down a lot. Just enough left to fit in a small picnic basket. I've already given my DD the most valued or sentimental ornaments and lights, but these are the left over bog standard 99p stuff.

Tell me there is no point in keeping brand new unopened sim cards if they have a sign on the back that says' activate by May 2010? :o
Actually they are perfect for jamming between wooden floorboards to prevent creaking ... but I really shouldn't tell a fellow hoarder that! I learnt it from another hoarder LOL :rotfl:

Well that is over thank god , can't say I have thrown much out , but it is tidier and more organised now..kind of.
Off to make a roast chicken dinner now , far more interesting and enjoyable.:D

Whilst I was in the cupboard I found 53 bottle gift bags.....53 !
I am going to dish these out to my neighbours as gift bags are always handy , but I don't need 53 that's for sure.

I have been thinking whilst in horrid cupboard , that even if I just did one drawer , or shelf , or area once a week it would keep on top of stuff and wouldn't really take that much time.....and less andless time each time I did it.
I am off tomorrow and have a few things I need to do , but if I get time I may attack the kitchen under sink cupboard whilst I feel a bit on a roll.

Question..........there is a tower of 60 videos in the hall.....do I just throw them out right now to get rid ? As do people even use videos anymore?

I tried to car boot mine. They didn't sell.

I gave them to the charity shop in the end, I figured there might be someone who would watch them. At least that way I didn't need to cope with the trauma of binning a 'still useful' item. :D

I tried giving away videos on Freecycle and got no takers, then the CS wouldn't take them either so sadly they went to the tip. I have seen them at car boots, but then again I haven't seen anyone actually buying them!
DH & I are doing an hour a day of 'extra' jobs to clear the clutter/mess. Even a week has shown a very clear improvement. I actually have some clear surfaces!

Well I have been offline for a bit as the council men were coming to collect some defunct matresses.

When they saw the stuff I had cluttering up the garden waiting to go to the dump they offered to take it all ... I let them, but they stood there and said "we can take anything as we are here anyway" in a pointed way - so I bit the bullet and gave them loads of stuff, useless stuff that I thought I would reuse. They were so kind I went indoors afterwards and had a little cry.

And the patio is so clear now I can clean it and the dog can roll around on it and I can just ...enjoy it ... instead of making endless trips to the tip

Thank you for your kind comments above - I haven't always seen it all clearly, the programmes helped, as did the books, as did just getting on with it, I still have a way to go but am getting there

I know some CS take videos, someone asked in the one I frequent. They sell them on I think as I haven't really seen any for sale.

Awwwe, Blossom, that must have been so hard and emotional. I'm not surprised you had a little cry, but well done on doing it...:T and they sound really nice.

I really appreciate your input, it's helped me a lot already. :A
