    Byatt, very impressed.

Have to admit that my 11 yr old lab Dalmatian cross was the reason I was up at half four. He walked e length of the house (tiptapping claws on the laminate) sniffed at our door and then I heard him weeing inside! Oh I was so cross, but then I was up. Have to admit to getting all my stuff done and Decluttering the dogs room. Just had huge bill land on doorstep for roof, which the insurance won't cover as its wear and tear! Grrrrrrrrrrr
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Thanks guys, I have to say the "diet" is not a hardship now, as I wanted to change my way of eating rather than depriving myself and feeling awful and then falling off the wagon. I have cut down carbs, so no cakes and biscuits, but lots of veg and of course protein, such as eggs. I don't feel the need to graze as I'm hungry all the time on carbs (which I love), as a small amount of cheese fills me up. Not saying it's for everyone but it suits me. I have the occasional chocolate bar and maybe a macaroon if the urge strikes. I haven't been weighing myself all the time either, which I've done in the past, just happened that the dr wanted to weigh me to check on possible unplanned weight loss. Clothes feel looser and I'm not so rounded in the face. I do need to lose about another 3 stone so still a way to go.

LIR, glad you have decided to have an easy day. :) I've been doing work on my forms etc for my business, mainly with the computer as they needed updating and made to look smarter. Why is it when I enjoy something like this I don't count it as work, but skiving!

A lovely friend has done a spreadsheet for me, and I am over the moon, it will make such a difference to my life, so much less actual paperwork as I can put everything business related on to it. It would have taken me months and months to have learned how to do a spready, but this way I can learn as I go along. Very happy & excited bunny. :D

Well done with the weight loss. I think a lot of people are moving away from low fat-high carb diets to one with more protein and lower levels of sugar. It really helps, imo, to control hunger and portion size. Hope you continue to enjoy your new way of eating.

    I follow Appreciate Gratitude‏@2thank on Twitter, which tweets positive messages throughout the day, often relevant to what I am trying to achieve with my hoard, for instance;

    • The best things in life are not things. (as katep23 is realising)
    • It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live. (I thought this was good for the aspirational hoarder)
    • Enjoy the things that make you happy...let go and leave behind the things that don't
    ;)
    ((hugs)) to all, goodnight

Wow, I can identify with all of those but especially the second one - I spend too much time in my head and forget to live in the present :o

    Hi all

    I'm still ploughing away here.

On Saturday I took 2 bin bags full of clothes and a larger carrier bag full of ornaments to the cs.

The local charity came and collected the items I donated a couple of weeks ago. My sunroom still has some carp in it but it is a lot clearer.

Tonight I have been decluttering my bedroom. It was an absolute mess and full of carp. I have not finished it yet and will complete it tomorrow after work. I have another bag for the cs and a bin bag full of rubbish. I found a tenner :T and lots of paperwork for shredding.

I also found a lot of dvds that I'm going to sell to music magpie, you only get 30p for most things but postage is free and something back is better than nothing.

I have even managed to get rid of a top to cs that was my late OH's, it was my favourite when he wore it, but it's just a t-shirt, a nice one that needs to be made use by someone.

Congrats on your weight loss Byatt

  • When I lie in bed, the potential of the new day is endless, I really get a good plan of action in my head and it seems simple to implement it

Once I am up, it just seems to flee, (even writing it down doesn't help) then when i get back to bed at night I am puzzled why I lost sight of what I had planned

I realised this morning it is because I made the plan staring at a plain white ceiling - once I get up, the visual noise of al the thing and all the tasks that need doing crowd out the simple plan I have made, screaming "do me, make me, decide about me, feed me, clear up after me, buy more of me"

I am going to try to increase my plain white areas so I have more visual peace to concentrate on

I have already started having just one wallpaper throughout the house, and one rather plain net curtain whereas before I had several
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow

Blossomhill, this makes a lot of sense to me. I make plans for the next day when I'm lying in bed. i even know that I won't be able to get much done because of looking after DD, lack of energy etc. And even after taking this account, I still don't get half the stuff done! I remember all the things that I'd forgotton to put on my list. so some of them, and then that's it for the day.

Oh well, little and often I suppose. I have 'little' down to a fine art, I just need to do the 'often' part!

I wouldn't worry too much about not getting everything done and not remembering to put everything on the list. It will all get done in the end, sometimes when we're in fire fighting mode the things that are most apparent are dealt with first. If something is moved today that doesn't have to be dealt with tomorrow then it's progress!
