  • Another post in favour of getting help Sybil. Please let us know how you get on!

Only managed to get rid of some envelopes and cardboard boxes today but my old walking boots are going out tomorrow. Why did I feel the need to dry them out before I put them in the bin? It really doesn't matter how bad they smell in landfill!

Having difficulty decluttering some pairs of black trousers too. I seem to have about six pairs. I need three for work, at the most, with maybe one special pair for going out. Some of them feel too short. I can't seem to make myself put them in the cs bag, though.

Perhaps now I've written it down it will be easier.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thank you so much for the hugs! I am a bit teary reading them - thank you so much.

I will try and get something sorted out tomorrow. I know I can put little bear in after school club (hopefully, he has been running a temperature in the last two afternoons) if I run over with something.

With timing you couldn't make up, OH's back has gone. We are officially a sick household.

And I will derichard something tomorrow - not sure how or what, but I am determined, I am getting a more clutter free mindset and I am not going to lose it!

And lots of hugs especially to Jojo and Elona who are far worse off than me.

Thanks for the thought and I do appreciate it but at least dd is now home and we have an idea of what is wrong.

I have a strong feeling if you contacted NHS and mentioned chest pains you would be checked out so fast your head would spin.

Please humour us and get checked out PDQ -even if it is "just" an infection it needs sorting.

If I were near you I would be marching you down myself.

You do not want a band of OS ladies armed with rolling pins, pinnies and handbags at the ready tutting at you pet!!;)

Nonsense in my case. I've been to the hospital and found out my chest pains/extra heartbeats are nothing to worry about, they'll most likely go when this bug does.

If you don't go and tell them exactly what the pains are and how they feel and what seems to cause them (include any other random pains, such any in your jaw or neck), I WILL SCARE YOU into going.

And stuff the poor dear's back. He'll live. Get yourself sorted out.

'Declutter' the attitude that you're not worthy of looking after properly! And don't worry about Little Bear and school - if you get offered an appointment first thing, LB can be late for school. Or OH can take him since I'm guessing he can't go to work today?

See that OH of yours? If he's at home keep LB off nursery and the two of them can keep each other company. If OH is well enough to go to work then that's different, send LB to nursery but if you overrun, OH will just have to leave work early and deal with things. You're being a martyr here Missus by not looking after yourself in some mistaken belief that a bad back or slight temperature are more important that chest pains because they're your chest pains. If it was LB or OH with chest pains you'd have had them at A&E yesterday, I bet. How come your health is less important?

And that OH of yours needs a kick up the backside btw, for not having insisted on you doing this already, taken charge and made you go. Bad back my !!!!, I've got degenerative disc disease and I still seem to have retained the use of my brain and common sense when it comes to medical matters and priorities. Or was he just going to wait till you had a heart attack before he did something about it?

Sorry to rant but really, you both need a good talking to. Especially you. Women are really their own worse enemies sometimes. Go and see the doctor or A&E this morning!

(And don't forget to take a bag in the back of the car, just in case they keep you in.)
    Val.

I almost feel like I should be going to the docs today everyone has done so much butt kicking. Sybil, I think you know everyone is right, hope they made you an appointment straight away.

To totally change the subject a thing that finally went into my brain at the tip yesterday, was that I was being too much of a perfectionist when it comes to recycling. I am sometimes paralysed by whether something can be recycled or not. But at the tip we were helped by some of the men and they told me not to worry too much just to focus on the major part of the thing is. For example, I thought we would have to put our old sofa into non-recycling as part of the frame was covered in foam. The man said no, if it's mainly wood then it can go into wood, the mainly fabric bits could go into fabric etc. That made me feel loads better about getting rid of the stuff. Hardly anything we took went into the general skip. That's probably not a surprise to anyone other than me though is it?

I have just thrown out a pair of tights with a hole at the top of the leg (which would have been covered by a long skirt, but the 'self-respect' messages are kicking in).

More dreams that I am starting back at Uni, sitting in science lectures and asking casual acquaintances what the English degree is like.

Sybil, hope all is well with you, but I agree that we need a medical update later.

Alec, actually no, it still amazes me what can be recycled. The rags/shoes was the biggest surprise and that has got stuff out of the house much more readily.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • Thank you everyone. I am feeling a bit better but have a 10.50 appt with GP and will update if I can.

Feel like I have just been given the biggest hug ever. Fingers crossed it is just indigestion, and I can come on sheepish after making a fuss over nothing. There is also a lot less swelling in my hands and feet, which feels amazing!

I have just put in an AF order, but have been really strict. All the stuff on the way is marked for particular purposes. I am quite pleased. Apart from the actual things I am trying to battle the mindset that I need to have stuff in, that I need to have full cupboards, that I need to have reserves - I live on the edge of a city, within staggering distance of two reasonable corner shops, within ten minutes bus ride of a small supermarket and able to get regular deliveries of groceries. I do not think I need to worry about not being able to get the makings of a meal.

OH has gone into work. Little bear is happening at school. Darling father is charming the dentist. Even evil cat is leaving me alone. It could be a lot worse.

    Thank you everyone again.
