I think that I am going to do some scanning today. There is a box of stuff to do with old jobs and things that I keep churning but not dealing with. I need to update my CV at some point and it may be useful for that.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Goodness, you are all so busy! Well done. :T
Elona, I hope you get some positive news from the hospital next week. Thinking of you...:A
Well I went to the boot sale, nearly didn't but decided that even if I give the stuff away, at least it's gone. I made about £24 after paying £5 for the fee, so almost £30, which when you consider it was stuff that was hanging around, is pretty good. Most of the big items sold, and lots of stationery which I was chuffed about. The car hardly has anything in it now and what is there will go to the CS tomorrow. I got more of a thrill that stuff was going than actually getting the money! It was packed out there, but left early as I needed the loo! And I only got one item, a Jack Reacher novel for 50p. I sold all mine no problem!
Valk, poor you, I hope you're not too bruised and battered! I fall over when I'm tried and stressed, in fact become more accident prone. I jammed my thumb in the car door at the boot sale, and said, Oh gosh, that hurt...
Anyway, I fall over in the house a lot, partly because of tiredness but of course there's stuff everywhere. So it doesn't help. I find my spatial awareness is not so good now also.
I also find I ache all over after standing or walking about, mostly, lower back and lower abdomen (probably stretchy scar tissue), but it's so draining.
edit, just wanted to add, I had a quick walk around the boot sale and there was loads of stuff I would have bought if it was a couple of months ago, but although I looked, I walked away and it wasn't that hard. I acknowledged I liked the items, but I didn't have to *have* them...0 -
Great progress Byatt:j
I've just had a clear out of one of our 2 little sheds. I let go in my head some time ago the aspirational belief that I was a keen gardener. But I need to get rid of all the paraphanlia that I never use: quite a few 3/4 full bags of compost, loads of spare ceramic and plastic pots and 'stuff'.
I chucked out a binbag full of rubbish today and need to put the rest outside with a note on it 'please take' though perhaps not today as it is abit too much heavy lifting for today.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Haven't got to the scanning yet. Went to relatives for lunch. Came back and decided to pop the recycling in the car ready to take tomorrow. Made DH help me and it has now turned into a go through the understair shelves.
Two tableclothes going to the local church.
2 jackets to a neighbour's baby.
Pile of towels, duvet covers etc all mismatched and worn to the recycling.
Think the DVD player is going to family.
This is a real bonus declutter.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
DH offered to throw out the large cardboard boxed the new bathroom stuff came in but I suggested he wait till later in the week in case there are small items etc in them.
The boxes will go - I am determined on that - but don't want to risk bathroom not being finished soon. Journey to hospital dreadful
as York races were on but got home after four. Just time for a sit down and some open sandwiches for tea before setting off again at six. Have YS chicken in oven which I will let cook down then put in fridge so we can have chicken salad tomorrow for lunch. DDs have requested sweet potato burgers for tea.
Hugs to all and thanks for the good wishes."This site is addictive!"

How is she doing elona? I mean, emotionally?
This summer while i have been ill i have found the illness.....well, what it is, but the emotions have at times been very hard. On Monday my dh and dad were frankly a little scared of my behaviour, it seemed to them irrational, and it was actually my mother, not one of natures sympathisers, who 'got it'.
Being in hospital is deeply, deeply boring. If she feels well enough, audio books, something to read if she is a reader, or magazines if she is not, because you have to do something in the bits you feel awake and 'bored'.0 -
LIR
She is in denial and insists she is fine. Listless but getting a bit more mobile. Have brought her books, magazine, word search, playing cards and her favourite soft drink and offer every time we go - twice a day- to get anything she needs or would like.
Usually she cannot think of anything she wants and refuses any suggestions made. Won't know if she gets a scan till tomorrow and no point arranging appointment with head of team till scan is done.
Everything is in limbo at moment so just plodding on. Wish we could actually DO something apart from visiting every visiting time, doing laundry and fetching anything she wants."This site is addictive!"

Nice afternoon at the allotment, it was busy and there were quite a few people that had heard I was going so popped across to say hello and goodbye. Which was lovely, actually, there are some really nice people there and I'm going to miss them. I asked everyone that came across if they wanted any plants or spare tools or whatever and ended up giving quite a lot of my unwanted bits and bobs away and digging up herb plants etc. Gardeners never turn down the offer of a nice plant!
I brought the shelving from the shed back and DD helped me carry it and some assorted bits and bobs into the playhouse-shed. Shelving didn't fit, it was too tall! So DD got a lesson in power tool use as we took it apart and reassembled it into two low shelving units that fitted. So now I've got room to move the gardening stuff out the utility room, and that means I've got room to put the painting and DIY stuff in the utility room, and that means I'll get my dining table back again, yeah!Val.0 -
I just googled someone that I used to write to as a child, having found letters and cards from him in my stuff for scanning. To find that he is now a convicted !!!!!phile with offences dating back to the time I met him in person through school (only got convicted for them in the last 8 years).
Now this is going to sound really daft but what do I do with the letters? I don't want to keep them in with my scanned stuff. I am having talking therapy at the moment, shall I take them to discuss with the mh nurse, who probably won't even begin to understand why I can't make a decision about throwing it out?
I can't remember a lot about my childhood so the few bits (mainly letters) that belonged to me are held on tightly and only now beginning to be gone through.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. OMG Whitewing, what an awful thing to find out.
If the mh nurse knows about your childhood then I would hope (s)he would understand why you can't decide about throwing them out or not.
Would it be possible to scan in the bits about your childhood and delete the bits that refer to him and then throw the originals? Not sure if that will be possible or help or not but is a sort of halfway house.
