    I've been Money Tipped!
I worked with a guy who had 5 shirts for the working week and two ties
    • Mon, Tues, Weds; clean white shirt each day with teal & blue striped tie
    • Thurs teal shirt to match teal & blue striped tie
    • Fri blue shirt to match teal & blue striped tie
Wife washed the whites on Weds night
Wife washed the coloured shirts on a Monday with the weekend sports shirts

Spare tie handy in case of spills

THAT'S organised - can you see us hoarders being like that? If you could work out your own clothes like that you wouldn't need a list of what's normal. With DDs you would need to factor in spills, growth spurts and leaving clothes at school by mistake :rotfl:
You see, i can see that working gor many, but it never could for us.

Dh is required to keep two shirts and a suit and a packed bag in his office for unplanned trips. On many of these unplanned trips he has had to buy more shirts. He also has a black tie in his office drawer, plus a black tie at hime (bought on the occasion he needed opne but was not in london when he found out he needed one at short notice). I am guessing he has itro a months worth of good usable work shirts. (i prepare them a week ahead because he is not here, so the very minum we could have would be fourteen (week shirts, plus the spare shirts and spare shirt replacements!

    Ties he is flamboyant with.

The true suckiness about all of this is that he works somewhere with a dress down policy, so lots of these shirts are ones we would not have to own, they are too formal for home life, and not formal enough for suited occasions at work. Quite often ofcpurse, he ends up going to more meetings than planned and easily gets through ten shirts in a week anyway, which the brings our npminimum number at one time up to 24

Is it cashforclothing.org.uk that you use? What are they like for paying and is it better to choose cheque or paypal? I like the idea of them picking the stuff up from me, I don't have much time to take things to the CS.

Unfortunately granny is not to be reasoned with. She buys (new from shops in the sale) well in advance and doesn't even check if it's needed or tell us what she has bought ( was about to buy the girls school shoes the other day with the 50% brantano code till OH enlightens me to the fact she has them school shoes in). I think she thinks we live in a mansion (3 bed council house!).

DO we share a MIL? I FIND clothes in my kids drawers that Granny has put there. She buys them about 22000 magazines a week each (all with plastic tripe attached to front) and THEN she will have an outburst about the kids having SO MUCH STUFF
I am trying to control it by asking for what we need (for example this week we are going out - me, MIL and kids) to buy WHAT THEY NEED for the summer/holiday. That way she gets to indulge them/her need to spend and I get to control what she buys them. I really do appreciate the input (financially- her buying some of their clothes/shoes is a HUGE help) but it needs to be controlled somewhat.
On that note Im going to empty their drawers in prepartion of the new clothes on Weds! :D

No there is a shop near me you just dump it on their scales they pay 50p per kilo. The least I've walked out with is £8. It's usually about £15. (see, WAAAAAAY too much stuff!) I only send the stuff there that is stained/falling apart, too!

Laundry used to be my biggest problem and as I've probably said before Dh had to go to the 24 hour supermarket on more than one occasion to buy clothes for work when we couldn't find anything. Now he has a couple of suits, 6 pairs or trouser, 6 shirts and 6 ties. That means there's enough for a week plus an extra day if I haven't managed to get things washed and dried. It works well and I've been able to keep it up as it's the most important thing in the household.

This weeks purchases so far ( since yesterday). 4 x tops for me from Mr Ts (one is a vest top as one is see through)

4 x sale r shirts from mr A for OH (hoping he will chuck some of his raggy ones but can't assure he will). He can sometimes be worse than me and will berate me for spending in next on the girls (for something they may need) then on the flip side will be soft and let eldest (the only one particularly interested in clothes) get clothes coz they are cute. (then blame me of course). Anyway, I digress.......

2 Mr A sale tops for eldest as they had animals on and a-n-other sale top for middle as she will moan that she 'always gets nothing'.

Then 5 pk black school socks
    School cardi for youngest
School pinafores for eldest and middle
Ruffle polo shirts for elder and middle

(btw there is a wardrobe full of school clothes)

Oh I may have picked up a pinky in Mr S for middle on Sat too!

I need to get new white vests for school (next I like their quality). The rest prob wasn't needed at all

I also have earmarked for payday animal print party dress for eldest as I can see the larger sizes are already out of stock. She wanted similar form very before Xmas and I waited too long and they sold out

    I'm a lost cause,lol!

Well I've requested a pack from the cash for clothes people. I notice on their site that their company seems to have four names lol, one of which is 'we buy any clothes'. Bit wary as wondering if they will just take my stuff and not pay me, but then at least I don't have to cart it to the CS.

Fell off the wagon over the weekend :o

Saturday: Came home from the charity shops with another 4 books and another book waiting for me in the post that I had won.

Sunday wasn't too bad, just a trip to the garden centre, and came back with plants, But I avoided the cheap books section completely :T.

I have a board game to take to the charity shop tomorrow, I will try to find a few more bits tonight to donate.
