Anyone Brave Enough?

To buy some very cheap Spanish properties?

I was watching an Estate Agent in Spain saying that previous brand new properties selling at EU250,000 are now available at EU114,000!!

With the £ very strong .... these are absolute bargains, surely?

We are talking quality properties here, not the type that chavs visit in summer .... but sat in a Golf Course.

Anyone tempted? I don't invest in oversea's property - but can see some opportunity.

Why would I want a house sat in a golf course?

Thanks for the insight, but I'll wait another 2 to 3 years when prices have dropped considerably more, and the pound is even stronger against the new peseta.

You wouldn't ...... I'm sure there are even properties for you in the downtown districts of Madrid - would a property next to the Gas Works be more in your league?

Thanks for the insight, but I'll wait another 2 to 3 years when prices have dropped considerably more, and the pound is even stronger against the new peseta.

People waited in the UK in 2009 ....... now look at them, having to pay around 25% more for UK Properties now - and, having lost all that rental money!

This could well be the bottom of the Spanish market ...... or not, hence the bravery aspect.

I have enough exposure to the UK market ..... I know my best bets are here in the UK - UK property is rock solid (but may not return the massive profits that may be available in Spain).

I've been looking at houses and apartments in Spain. I do have some concerns that it would be very easy (and possibly even popular) to introduce a tax on second homes owned by overseas residents. Not saying it will happen, but so much of what is happening in the Eurozone is not logical that it could happen. Especially if "rich" north Europeans start to be seen as buying up the properties that the poor, indigenous Spanish can't afford due to high unemployment, etc.

It's not bad, but it's not stunning. If you want stunning:

This is my dream property if I ever win Euromillions. As in all likelihood I won't, most properties I've been looking at have been somewhat more erm, compact.
