Old GOLDFISH credit card

I've kept some of my paperwork. I'm sending my claim to an address on a compliments slip and I'll see if it comes back to me. Goldfish, PO Box 25201, Glasgow, G2 8YG.
I said this earlier in the thread (in 2014) and even provided a much more up to date address. Well done for ignoring this and sending your complaint to an old address!0 -
Hi i am having difficulty with Goldfish , would you mind looking at your goldfish statement and telling me who is the underwriter it should be stated on the back of the statement0
-
Most of the users posting on this thread last logged in 2012/2014,so I doubt any of them will be looking at the back of their old statements for you.
Regardless, the underwriter route is not applicable with Goldfish.0 -
I have an old Goldfish statement in front of me dating from July 2001.
The address, that I assume to be the underwriter, is:
HFC Bank ltd.,
North St,
Winkfield,
Windsor,
Berkshire SL4 4TD
That's their registered address, by the way.0 -

It is not the address of the "underwriter". The underwriter is not applicable for Goldfish PPI complaints (they were regulated prior to 2005). My other responses in this thread already mention this several times.
Your other thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/71313020#Comment_71313020
reveals that you held the card from 1998-2001. So your main problem would appear to be that 2001 is now 15 years ago and that no one is likely to hold any records of this finance.
Your one statement is unlikely to obtain you a full refund of any PPI you paid even if any complaint you might make is successful.
I encourage you to also read and digest the earlier responses to this thread which provides all the information you might need.0 -

The old address on statements is useless since Goldfish no longer trades and was taken over by Barclaycard.Moneyineptitude wrote: »The old address on statements is useless since Goldfish no longer trades and was taken over by Barclaycard.

Thanks for your reply.
I read your previous comments in this thread where you provide the above address details.
I have to admit to being completely confused. My understanding is that GF was taken over by Barclaycard sometime after I closed my account therefore they would not have my details. Not sure why you've given an address for Barclays? Barclays, I assume, is a totally different entity to Barclaycard & from what I have read are not nor ever have been involved with GF.
I stand to be corrected.0 -

In your case, it's true that Barclaycard won't have any details of your account (so don't bother writing to them) but neither will anyone else fifteen years on.0 -

That address was the most up-to-date "Goldfish"address posted on the forum thread devoted to Bank addresses. I was only suggesting it over and above old statement addresses which are now utterly useless.
In your case, it's true that Barclaycard won't have any details of your account (so don't bother writing to them) but neither will anyone else fifteen years on.
So, in a nutshell, you don't think there's any point wasting any time on this.
I'll give the SAR to HSBC a shot & see what happens...
Hopefully my Baclaycard PPI claim will prove more fruitful0 -

Don't forget also even if someone does still have your paperwork, that doesn't prove you were miss-sold, you would still have to construct a valid complaint (with evidence) and show that you were miss-sold
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
