No one mentioned Part P as an outdoor lighting or power installation?
Part P very important document. Which is hybrid of telling you to do BS7671 and a process control standard.

It does not give you anything over and above doing BS7671 correctly apart from a certificate to show you have complied with Part P - which buyers may require.

In short, for all its importance, it does not give a great deal of added value.

There is no mention of it being a dwelling with residence by the OP which it what Part P applies too
part from a certificate to show you have complied with Part P - which buyers may require.
OP is still in Scotland. :D

I understand Part P requirements, and also understand BS76712008 Incorporating Amendment No1:2011

Now if you care to explain which is relevant to the OPs question, seeing as nothing has been said of a dwelling the Part P has nothing to do with this thread, unless you know different.

Ignoring Scotland for the momemt, it depends where the cable comes from. If the op has a seperate metered supply to the stable, fair enough.

OP implies at least that the installation will be supplied from a dwelling, so Part P will apply to some extent.if the dwelling is in E&W, never mind where the stables are. More important is applying 7671 if you get my drift.

Well yes, I was merely ensuring the correct advice was given according to what we know.
