    Afternoon All
Busy day here at Camelot Towers. Went to collect my new walking boots from the post office place just after 8, wanted to avoid getting stuck in the olympic torch traffic. Came back and made bacon rolls for DD and myself which was a nice treat. Stripped beds and put it on the line where it dried quite nicely - just as well as it's raining now!

Went to the end of the road to watch said Olympic torch pass by only to find that we had missed it!! The 'live' feed on the BBC is obviously not live as it showed the bus just leaving Dumbarton when in fact it was here, 7 miles on. Popped to the local town for a card - the shop was shut, DD went to buy some hair products only to discover that her bank card was missing and the 'continental' market consisted of 5 stalls, 1 of which was a hong-kong hot food stall!! Not been a great day really.

Anyway, our bedrooms are sparkling and I have taken 5 bags to the charity shop, clothes and books that no-one has looked at for years.

Off to re-make my bed, take DD to the station for her night out, shower and off to work for 6.

    Take care. XX

PS She found her bank card in a pair of jeans!

It's warm in the sun, but chilly with the wind! Whereabouts are you unclebryn?

FB I'm a Valleys girl, about 30 miles north of Cardiff, (and usually an overcoat colder than Cardiff too.) :)

Woohoo, I made £14.50 on my Ebay sales and I have more items finishing over the next few days.
Del, you'll get lynched round here saying things like that, hubby & I split all the bills 50-50 as until recently we earned approx the same wage. I'm still determined to meet my commitments despite taking a pay cut. No point moaning on here about lazy women who spend as I doubt that those sort of people frequent this board.

We seem to be rotating through the seasons rapidly here. Sun then rain thn cold then perishing then torrential rain now back to sun! Christmas dinner bought (and£113 lighter ), OH off for bike ride (i sed mind the puddles) , ds offto work, dd1 and dd2 giggling like schoolgirls downstairs. I'm doing a quick bit of housework, taking a 5 min breather between rooms :D

RR you are very kind to offer to help out IM DD. I have teenage DD and would have been frantic if she got stuck somewhere.
HH well done on ebay sales, every little helps doesnt it? A paycut??? I do similar job to you so know what its like and from what you have said they expect from you I think they should double your pay.

Bright and breezy here, so have 2 loads of washing out on line and have already got bedding in as it was dry. Its so lovely to get it all out in fresh air, mind you did put 4 pegs on each item! Also did a bit of tidying in the garden, few things bit windswept and one of my tomato plants has been broken off at pot level :( DW been on now needs emptying, have vacuumed whole house which was probably silly as intend to make cakes when oven on to cook pizza and wedges for tea and kitchen will probably look like its not been done, but at least I will know it has. Might also make flapjacks they went down very well week before last. Have put soup mix in to soak, these are for tomorrows dinner, have never used before but saw a recipe for lamb stew with it and fancy having a go, want to make better use of SC as am working extra hours next week and want to make sure we all eat properly and not succumb to takeaways. Has anyone done pasta in SC? just wondering how it would turn out if you did pasta bake type dish.
Feeling rather pleased as had been contacted by our broadband supplier to say we are entitled to an upgrade, when I phoned them to arrange for new superhub I apparently need, I was told that I can have a man deliver and install it for free and I am also entitled to free evening calls (was getting weekend ones). I know there are restrictions but shouldnt be a problem and will be another saving.
    Thoughts to all.

  • Hello old (and new!) friends

It's been a whirlwind few months in my life - cannot even remember the last time I posted!

I started a new (perm) job at the beginning of Jan, only to be told at the beginning of Feb that they were moving to the other end of the country in May! Oh dear! So I've been worked to the bone over the past few months (very nearly to breaking point), and have spent numerous nights away from home travelling to the new offices, doing handovers etc. I'm really pleased to say that I've now finished and am starting a new job on 18th June :) Much nearer to home, a smaller business, on slightly less money but much more up my street :T I feel like the most enormous weight has been lifted off my shoulders and that things can get back to normal again.

It's been a very testing couple of years with work and family life, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger eh?! :rotfl:

So I need to get to grips with family/home life again and am looking forward to re-embracing my OS ways. Too much money has been wasted lately and we need to tighten our belts! In addition the house resembles something of a waste disposal site, so there is much need for organisation, de-cluttering and cleaning up. Anybody wanna help? :p

Lovely to be back anyway :D

I'm in London. My friend once did Glasgow-London by coach to visit me and it took almost 12 hours with traffic, I really don't think I could hack it  I know it's bad but I'd much rather get a cheap train at awkward o'clock than get a coach :o

Been to the shops, cleaned the bathroom, put more washing away and got flapjacks in the oven. Flapjack and MSE break then more cleaning :(
