dundeedoll happy birthdya dd2, she has good taste
Morning all! Much drier today so will go for a walk later and pick some greens. My new local council has leaflets with responsible foraging tips such as what's in abundance, what to cook and er... squirrel recipes and how to fatten up snails for eating
Lots more tidying to be done today, OH needs to go through his box of carp and I need to find more stuff to ebay. Plus vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and flapjack making.
I am going stir crazy so looking for cheap train tickets to visit my friends in Glasgow, then will go back to Birmingham for a bit as I know I can get that trip under a tenner. I will have to meet some people in the local area eventuallyLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Hi there all, still windy here but dry and a bit of sun. We had the heating on again last night----ridiculous in June. Have to hoover DD's room in a bit as she is back from Uni for good today, don't know where the last 3 years have gone!!!! Also need to clean upstairs bathroom. Downstairs bathroom is in the process of being re-fitted by DH so we have a bath in the lounge and basin and toilet in study. The place is a tip but I can't do anything really until he has finished.
Hugs to all in need, hope everyone has a good day and some sun:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

good morning all well I got my bit of shopping yesterday and managed to get it at just under £20.00 which was great.I also got a line of washing dried ironed AND put away

last night I spent sorting out all the wool I have and knitting some of the smaller bits of it up.
Today I am just waiting for my son-in-law to ring back as one of the boys has toothache and he's trying to get him an appointment this morning I always take the boys to the dentists as I am very 'In you go I'll see you shortly' and make no fuss and neither do they when Granny takes them.Their Mum has to work today bless her. After thats done I shall drop him off then come home and spend the day baking to fill my cake tins upSun is shining here for a change, although its still quite breezy.Hope everyone has a good weekend and welcome back islandmaid we'll soon get you back on the straight and narrow again:)
Cheers chums

Morning Hester and all,
its stopped raining at least but its still pretty grim out there. I noticed when i went down the garden that quite a few of the strawberries are ready to be picked. I guess thats tonights desert taken care of though i'm not sure what i will be serving with it.
Just enquired about hiring a tuxedo for my son. Its his school prom at the end of the month and ive left it a bit late. Hopefully he will be going for a fitting later today.
Need to go grocery shopping too sometime as the cupboards are bare (again).
Will pop in A*da or Te*sco to get cat litter for the chinchilla too.
I also need a webcam to speak to my daughter who is in South Africa. She and her partner have set up a baby house in Durban for orphaned babies and they have their first orphan who was given up on Thursday. Cute little thing but he is so tiny considering he is 6 months old. Apparently his Mum ran off and left Dad with the baby and he's not a well man.
I cant imagine giving any of my babies up for adoption.... hubby maybe, but not the kids.:rotfl:
Another thing, talking about hubby.... how come he spends a great deal of time when he is at work moaning about his job and wishing he could be at home and when he gets home he does nothing but whinge and whine over petty things? I really dont understand it. Oh well, thats my whine of the day.
Have a great (and a bit warmer) day. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
5th load of washing is in the WM  but there is now nothing left in the house to wash :j :rotfl:. I've done 1 x bedding, 1 x guest bedding, 1 x towels, 1 x darks, 1 x whites. Love my WM as it has a 30min 30degree wash, which is how I've done it all so quick. I have however run out of pegs so am hoping some of the 1st load will be dry by time the last load fnishes! Quite breezy so should be.
Think I'm just going to potter around today, have had a few invites to go shopping or watch rugby but TBH I've had enough of seeing people after this week!!:rotfl:

It's a man thing Judi they just like to moan, I may well swing for mine before the weekend is over. We were going away for a couple of days but cancelled it when the news of my paycut came through, BIL was coming over to help hubby with some guttering, that was cancelled too, hubby did the gutter on his own, cue much cursing & swearing, the weather has been awful, so he couldn't spend as much time in the garden as he'd hoped & me? I can't even breath right, everything is my fault from my paycut to the weather, lol.

mornin' all
Flutterby - is it perishing over in the West? i've just put a load of washing out and it feels more like March than June.
At least not horizontal rain, like yesterday. I needed to visit a particular shop at lunchtime 15 mins walk there, 15 back, rain blowing in face both ways - and discovered new waterproof jacket isn't:(
i need to pop out to market for some fruit and veg in a bit, so am going to find socks before I go as my feet are freezing.
On the plus side, made bread last night, first time for ages, which was delish. Shall make some rolls later for lunches next week for freezer, and some scones for the cake tin, I think.
HH, Judi I think men were put on this earth to moan. Mine puts more energy into swearing over a small job than doing it . . but it's Saturday, my calm day, so don't get me started;)
