You should have said, i would have done it yesterday after i did mine..:D

Still plenty to do, when you coming, i'll put the kettle on :D
I had to give up in the end today as I got wet and already had a stinking cold so god knows how I'll feel in the morning :(

I just want to apologise for being depressing before I start but I need to offload and I know this is the best place:A

For certain reasons I cannot give too many details but will try to explain best I can.

For the last week I have spent a lot of time in my local ITU sitting with a lady whom I have known for 15months. This is to do with my work although it does not normally involve hospitals and never situations like this :( The lady is only in her early 40's and through complications from a simple operation is now severely ill. Got told the weekend she is unresponsive and they think brain dead, although her heart is beating she is on a respirator. I have sat and talked, laughed and tried my best to be positive not knowing if she can hear anything I am saying:( I found out today that they will be turning the respirator off tomorrow and she will either die or breathe for herself but be faced with a life of 24hr care with no dignity:( . I know I should be more professional and it should not be affecting me this way but this is the first time I have been faced with such a sad situation. I don't know until the morning if I am expected to be there when it happens as she has no close family.
How will I be strong? I really don't think I can be :(

You are not being depressing, you are just sharing your feelings and i'm glad you decided to share with all of us.
I know from experience that ITU is a scary place and you must feel very saddened that this lady has become so ill so quickly, through something that may have been prevented, but you will know from the time you have spent with her in ITU that she is now in the safest hands she could be.
You shouldn't worry about professionalism at this time, what you are doing for her is coming straight from the heart and just shows what a lovely kind and caring person you are.
Tomorrow will no doubt be difficult and upsetting for you, but don't be afraid to show how you feel. You have been there for this lady when she had no-one else, and that is all you can do.
What happens tomorrow when they turn the ventilators off is now in gods hands and if you want to be with her you should, but if you decide you don't, then don't be afraid to say so.
I'm quite sure, even if on a different level, that she is aware of all the time you have spent with her, talking to her and holding her hand.
What you've done for this lady is much more than a job, you have done it because you have a huge heart and you care and I only wish that if I ever find myself in a situation like this lady is, with no family or friends around me, that I will be lucky enough to have an angel like you by my side to see me on my way.
Huge hugs to you now and for tomorrow, whatever it may bring, you will be in my thoughts and my prayers xxx
A clinically depressed person with a sleep condition. I'm in my own little world, but it's ok the people like me here ;)
Any offence is not intentional, I'm really quite harmless :o

I'm also with a "trial" website called "What's in my handbag" so this one is for the girlies only i think...
    http://www.whatsinmyhandbag.com/r/5c8

I've just had an email to apply for a free Percy and Reed (never heard of them) No Fuss Flawlessness Dry Conditioner for free - 50ml size.

"It keeps your tresses conditioned and glossy all day with this gorgeously-light formula - in a handbag-friendly size, of course!"

If you apply and are picked, you try the product for free so it works like SSM. It closes in 1 day and 8 hours.

    Thanks for this :T:T:T

Just been on there and it turns out I'm already registered with them !! Think I must put my details on so many websites these days I lose track :o
I've applied for the dry conditioner too so fingers x

    Thanks again :)

Sorry boys, been trying to catch up on here and with BB :o
The pre-paid envelopes were going cheap about a year or so ago, I had forgotten all about them until one fell out the cupboard the other day :o:o

Ahh, I think I remember that. I found 1 lone packet on a clip strip but never found any more.:(
