What law have I broken please?
Bootlegging damages the economy, costs jobs, deprives the NHS of funding and is often run by criminal gangs and is the subject of many a documentary/expos!
I don't think Panorama will be doing a special on womblers anytime soon
"Members who forget to do this may have their points added manually up to 14 days after the transaction upon production of a valid receipt, providing the receipt belongs to the claiming member and is based on their personal spend."
So if you are NOT the claiming member who the receipt belongs to, you are claiming fraudulently.
I have no problem with people who "womble" receipts but I do have a problem with hypocritical people who state that they are whiter than white but are doing similar things themselves.0 -

**FK....less grumpy now he has hens!**
I didn't know it was bcw123 at the time I posted as I was catching up backwards and forwards at the same time. If I had seen it was him I would have ignored the whole thing
Unfortunately it seems to have moved on from that to "let's have a go at aau's morals" and that is one discussion that I will obviously take part in. I don't know why I care what anyone on here thinks of me but I do (a bit less each day but I do)
I'll try to explain myself another way
Even if the government clarified this matter by passing an iron clad/no way out/no loophole "All Womblers Are Criminals Act 2012" and I were found guilty of wombling in a court of law I think I should still be able to criticise a bootlegger without being vilified for it.
Just as someone who gets charged with breach of the peace when they stagger home from the pub singing a song should be able to criticise a drink driver
Even if all these activities were classsed as illegal some are more seroius breaches of the law than others as they are much more damaging to society as a wholeApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Lol!! A bootlegger? He was selling 200 cigarettes!0

Well it may be past bedtime for most of you, but I'm at least managing (just) to keep up with this thread, even if I don't get a chance to thank or post much at the moment, sorry
Now this is in no way going to be a fellow Fudge's line up, but there was a few people I remembered that I wanted to mention sorry for any I've missed, but my memory is shot to pieces
3dogs, I always look for your posts about you and Mr3dogs and I'm always especially pleased when you have both had a good day. I understand what you mean about the pain meds causing so much tiredness. My dad is now on so many painkillers it's unreal. Along with all the normal stuff, and the oramorph and others, it makes him very confused, tired and forgetful a lot of the time. He seems to find that by about 9pm each night and often during the day, he just conks out and falls asleep without warning and then after taking his meds at about 10pm, he is then suddenly wide awake for most of the night. It's not much fun when that happens, so I hope that Mr3dogs manages to work out the right pain medication for himself soon. Huge hugs and lots of love as always to you both. Many people have said what an inspiration you both are and I fully agree, but what shows most for me is it is quite clear how very much in love you both are and that you are one of the very lucky couples that were quite obviousley made for each other and share something really special that most others could only dream of xx
A quick squeeze for FK too. I know everyone is calling you grumpy and you can be a little sharp sometimes, but I think of you kind of like a smartie. Hard on the outside but with a lovely soft centre
Kymie can you please pass on my congrats to your son on becoming a qualified Carpenter. You must be really proud
Sorry can't remember who posted it, but whoever mentioned using the mccains 50p off voucher on mccains smiles. If this is
the pdf voucher, then that is actually for ovens chips, so shouldn't really be used on the smiles as these don't clas as oven chips. I don't really care either way, but just wanted to let you know
And lastly, I'm guessing a bit contenious, but all I can say is if they had been a different brand and he had been a bit closer, I would have.
There are many things that some or all of us do, some or all of the time that strictly speaking may be legally wrong or certainly morally wrong, but it is for each individual to decide where there line is and how often they choose to cross it, if at all.
Speaking as a person that has paid my taxes every day in full for the last 15 years, and now finds myself in a position where I may need to take advantage of some of the benefits that should be available to me and finding I pretty much can't. I do not think there is any harm in purchasing duty free cigarettes from a friend.
I hear all the opinions about lost tax etc, but here's the thing. Each and every one of us is legally entitled to purchase over 6000 duty free cigarettes a year. Now many people may not smoke or may not travel abroad and so will not take advantage of this allowance. So there really isn't any tax lost at all. If every person took advantage of that allowance, then there would be a lot more tax lost than if a few purchase and pass the benefit onto friends and family.
I say this with experience in both HM Revenue and Customs (tax and vat). It is really only those people that sell by the thousands or in fact sell counterfeit cigarettes that are actually a problem to the tax system and society.
I'm just saying :cool:A clinically depressed person with a sleep condition. I'm in my own little world, but it's ok the people like me here
Any offence is not intentional, I'm really quite harmless0 -
Was not hungry before but am now lol :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:French_Knickers wrote: »Got in an hour ago and needed dinner but mindful of how late it was I left the chicken caserole in the fridge! Quickly defrosted a pack of bacon (which just happened to be low fat 50% less salt) and had bacon and egg sarnies!
I went to asda on the way back from T's and got 3 ragu sauces and a tub of benecol spread and paid 11p so used the spread on my bread. Grilled the bacon rather than fired it and poached the eggs instead of frying those.
Was delish too!0 -
I'm back! Just been watching the LoveFilm that came today, Super8, it was quite good but seemed a bit like a kids film in parts. See everyone is still disagreeing...no change there!
Did anyone else get the survey from Shoppers Thoughts about sausages:rotfl::rotfl:My favourite question was along the lines of:
Q - Which promotion would you find most appealing on sausages in T's?
A - 3 for £5......3 for £5 or 4 for £6......B1G1HP.......50p off each pack....
I'll give you one guess which I thought would be the best option for us!!:D0 -

When exactly did I say I was "whiter than white"? I'm more a light beige
Wombling and bootlegging are hardly similar activities IN MY OPINIONApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

What started the barrage of abuse that I'm getting was a GENERAL STATEMENT about people who sell duty free for profit. I didn't know if it was 200 or 20000 just that someone was doing itI've missed all the furore but have to say that selling goods for profit that were brought through the "nothing to declare" aisle is most definitely illegal. I would gladly turn in any friend/family member who I knew was doing it and thats the god's honest truthDamages the economy my backside. A black market economy is still an economy. It's taxation that takes money out of the economy, not evasion of said tax.
You're not giong to get my vote for Chancellor of the Exchequor(sp?)Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Portray would have been a better word than state. But you must surely realise you are behaving illegally? Fraudulent use of Tesco's Clubcard system is as illegal as selling 200 cigarettes without paying the tax on them.
"Sorry, Your Honour, I only murdered him a little bit."
