Long term I'd like to see a breathalyser ignition key. (obviously with the necessary system in place to prevent fraudulent usage)0

.....(because you say you don't drink).....
I didn't say I don't drink, Between the two of us, we get through about a bottle of wine a night.
I said I don't drink, then get behind the wheel of a battering ram!
If it's too urgent to wait until the morning, there are several local taxi companies.

I agree with the Sgt - three times in two years over thousands of miles seems not to be an issue. I'd expect there to be more checks at night.I drive thousands of miles in other parts of the South East, often at night.
Three times in the same locality suggest a connection. Perhaps in the vicinity of a late-night drinking den? Or where there is a history of -ahem- working ladies making house calls?
If you were actually detained at the station for 2 hours with no test then there must have been paperwork and a formal request should produce this (maybe a letter to the senior officer at that station?).I need to think of something new here...0
