    Hi All,

I'm looking to set up a savings account with one of these ISA's. Gonna be starting from scratch so don't have a large amount to invest but want to pay a set amount in each month. Any Suggestions??

On the Barclays website it consistently refers to this ISA as having an AER of 6.5%, but a tax free rate of only 6.31%.

In comparisons with other ISAs on the Barclays site, none of their competitors show drops between the AER and the tax free rate.

Can anyone explain what this means?

I rang them up and got a garbled answer - I assume 6.31% is the monthly rate
  • Hi

I'm located in Northern Ireland and I currently have a mini cash ISA with around £10,000 in it, the interest paid on this ISA is 5.5% net. Are there any ISA's available with higher interest rates that would allow me to transfer my current ISA into.

    Thanks.

    Abbey offer a 5.75% Direct ISA for ISA's with £9,000 plus. under £9,000 it's 5.5% but those over get a .25% bonus.

Just read the weekly email from this site & am looking at changing my ISA to the barclays http://www.barclays.co.uk/isa/

but it says this at the top of the page.
Transfers from an existing ISA, either with us or with another ISA provider, are not allowed.

I fear this may be a stupid question but does that mean I can't transfer my HSBC ISA (just over 6k) into it when I open it? If so why would it be recomended as the one to swap to?

Have I misunderstood the quote (obviously because it's early not because I'm stupid  )

    Thanks,
    worto.

edit - just read this too
Although you can't transfer funds from an existing ISA into your Tax Beater Cash ISA take a look at the rest of our ISA range to see how you can.

I don't really see the point unless I can move all of it from HSBC even at a really good interest rate whats the point for just 3k I won't make much more than leaving it with HSBC. It doesn't look like it's worth swapping I'll have a look around for a diferent deal I think.

Correct. No transfers in. The max you can put in is 3K. Read all about it here:

Or look at all the options here:
