Sky Broadband or other?

Hi guys.

Looking to get Broadband at my new address and wanted to pay less than £20 a month.

Sky are coming out at £17.25 a month for 12 mths, is this the best i can hope for or are there others to consider around this price?

Anyone with Sky? would you recommend??

I don't have a bt landline so i'm guessing my options are pretty limited.

Don't all reply at once :rotfl:

I think i'm going with Sky.

I'm 1902m away from the exchange, anyone know if that's near enough to get decent speeds?

£17 for Sky broadband sounds like the Connect package, which is a resold BT product & it's dire!
I'd look at O2,I pay around £25-£30 a month for BBand, line rental & calls, less if I top up my mobile as it's half price then.

Done the comparison stuff, was just after some 'human' feedback.

I am probably returning to sky broadband and line rental after leaving them 3 years ago. Their customer service has actually become GOOD and I am getting 6 months free broadband , 10Meg speed(ish), unlimited downloads, then £12.50 plus £12.25 line rental.
Make sure you ask for 6 MONTHS FREE OK !!! It is a standard current offer.

I am moving from Tesco who have made my billing up and been a nightmare to talk to in my 3 first months

It's not from what i believe - it's the Unlimited and Talk package which differs from the Connect one ( from what i've read)

It's half price for 12 mths.
  • If you don't have a BT landline installed already, I hear that connection may always be a costly one-off fee, also I don't know if you have Sky TV too, or if that makes any difference.
I do know how happy 2 of my friends are with Sky BB and phone.

£10 if you take the Talk package :)

Good to know your friends are happy with them.

I was with talktalk on the essentials package. Recently they rang me offering me a deal. I became wary of being out of contract so declined.
Did some research. I was offered and accepted the 6 months free deal with sky. Then talktalk hit me with another deal that was better. I went back to cancel sky. They again beat talk talk
    My new deal is
up front line rental £119 for the 12 months
6 months free unlimited internet and calls
after 6 months i will cancel the call package to evening and weekend so it will be free
    internet after six months £7.50
However they also gave me a credit into my account of £35.40 to beat talk talk essentials so it will work out from months 7-12 £1.60 per month
