So the Focus was averaging about 27 to the gallon (based on £1.33 per litre) and the C3 about 63 to the gallon (£1.38)?
Not sure on your maths there. 1.32 *4.546 is near enough £6, so 20p a mile at 30mpg. Diesel 1.37 *4.546 is £6.22, and we get near enough 65 mpg from the C3, maybe down to 60mpg on a bad day, so average is about 10p a mile. edit - for the 30mpg, check honestjohn, or just ask the op. Tax saving will be more than £100 as well, for the op.0 -

I usually get about 27 from my 1.8 Zafira, heavily laden, stop start local journeys, so I usually cost that at 22p a mile.0
