Things are going fairly well this week. Hardly needed to do any food shopping as we're trying to use up what's been in the freezer for the last few months. Not really spent anything else :T
My new job were suppose to call me on monday and i've still not heard anything so i need to chase that up - the sooner i start the sooner our money increases.
Had a letter from LLoyds stating that they have received my complaint about bank charges and will be in touch in the following fortnight0 -
not such a good weekend. Had to go down to Southampton to see family and that's never cheap! A few meals out, petrol etc etc.
On the way back we did have a drive around the area we are thinking of moving to which was helpful. Should be able to find something within our price frame that w could possibly add value to. :www:
We have the week off this week and plan to get loads done.
Tasks for tomorrow..... work on the allotment to get a head start on getting my veggies in.0 -
now you have discovered quidco, don't buy anything without checking on there first! obviously, you still want the best deals on price - but i have just got the best prices on car and home insurances and got £210 cashback!
i think you should be able to save £110 a month in total on your gas/elec (£70 tops), sky tv/phone/inet (£26), mobiles payg (£20), life insurance (£10 each tops).
i have spent a few months on here and don't know what i did before. i never buy anything without discount/cashback/points etc.
also, remember the mantra ' can i/we afford it? do i need it? can i get it cheaper anywhere else?'
also, have you got lots to sell on ebay, especially if you decide to move.
good luck to you both in whatever you decide to do:D0 -
thanks Sazzacat.
I think we will move to pay as you go mobiles and we have tonnes of stuff to ebay/car boot.
Spent this afternoon up at the allotment - carrots, potatoes and onions are in. Got the rest of the beds ready and the supports for the peas and beans done. :A
Gonna spend tomorrow sorting out the crap for selling on. Just recently left my job as a consultant for Slimming World and have loads of old books and magazines that should ebay well.0 -
i have finally heard fom my new job and go to have a look around on thursday. Hopefully i'll be able to start sometime in April - sooner the better as far as i'm concerned!
Pay day tomorrow - can't wait!0 -

oh wow! slimming world stuff goes for loads! take a look on advanced search on ebay (top right).0 -
Things seem to be looking up....
I went to look at the new job and meet my new manager. He was very honest and said they had had a lot of problems in the team recently but it can't be any worse then where i am now! They have a big issue with staff illness so there is plenty of room for overtime which would be good.
On the down side i have to wait for my CRB to be done and then hand my notice so it may take 6-8 weeks before i can start.
We've spent loads of time this week decorating too (mostly my wife i must say!). We're about ready to paint the final coat on the main bedroom and hallway which should brighten up the place.
we have loads of items on ebay too. Got to wait until a month after i leave SW to ebay those items but i might wait for septemeber when everyone starts to think about loosing weight for xmas :rotfl:
I think i've found someone else to take on my consutant role too which will earn me £100 if she's successful.... every penny counts!
We've managed to pay a bit off the loans this month too and had a blockbuster voucher with Pigsbank. I've got about £13 for another voucher too.
So far so good!0 -
This will show just how much i have learnt from this site......
Over the weekend my sofa finally fell apart and it also became clear that we really do need a new mattress for our bed. We decided that we didn't want to go for something really cheap that we'd have to replace in the next two years but didn't want to spend a fortune either.
We found both items in Tesco Direct.
In the past i would have just gone and ordered them, but not now.....
I went through quidco (earning approx £20), got them both on sale (saving £50), paid on cashback credit card (earning £9) and ordered on triple points day - getting 2700 points which i will later change to clubcard deals worth £108.00. :j
In total the items earnt/saved me £187.00 which i would never have previously thought to get.
The drinks are on me....... :beer:0 -
We've gone ebay mad at the moment......
we've had a good clear out and put five wardrobes, some shelves, my cross trainer and a kingsize bed on ebay. If they all sell (and they should with the number of people watching them) we'll get over £100 to feed the pigs!
We've finished decorating one of the bedrooms. Another will get alick of paint today/tomorrow and the hall/stairs/landing should be done by the middle of next week. phew!
As we've already had estate agents quote it'll be interesting to see if it's worth anymore now we've house-doctored it!0 -
more of the decorating has been done and the finish is looking really good.
Most of my ebay items have bids on which total £90 so far. I'm hoping that will increase over the next 2 days.
Homey the hog has over £120 in him too - most of which was from my SW float money that i no longer needed though.
I'm thinking of opening up an ebay shop to sell my avon and jewelery - any thoughts anyone?0
