thanks Jet.
we're both really happy..... now for some big decisions. Do we stay in our home or move?
Option one - stay in home and focus our money on paying off debts. The house is valued at the highest on the street so we know there's nothing else we could do to maximise this property.
Option two - downsize. this wouldn't be easy but may be possible. we could pay off our debts and start to save towards our dream house. The question is would we actually do this or would we end up with a lesser house for good?
Option three - buy to do up and make some money to pay off our debts whilst still living in a house of the same sort of value.

I'd stay where you are and pay off your debts. Moving house is expensive as is doing up a wreck. I'd concentate on paying off your debts then the world is your oyster!
Well done on new job :T :T :T :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Finally debt free!0 -
thanks everyone.
I think maybe you're right about staying where we are and paying off debts. It's probably worth give the place a fresh lick of paint but apart from that everything is done.
I think maybe we should be aiming to sell this time next year when our debts WILL be under £10K. After that i think we'll find something for a bit less than our current house pay off the remainder and renovate for profit. We would really like to be living debt and mortgage free in 10 years time. It's a steep hill to climb but i know we can do it.0 -
Got cashback credit card in the post this morning so going to start getting something from the banks for a change! Just realised as well that we will have a months grace too - what we spend on the card in april won't need to be paid until may so we can use the money we usually have for food and petrol to go to our debts. I know will be paying it in the long run but for now it'll help to cut down on the interest charges.
Must set up dd to pay it off in full each month - don't want the !!!!!!s to charge me for something else!0 -
Just worked out that my current debt free date will be November 2010. Feeling somewhat depressed now
When I start my new job it should make a difference to this but even so we're wondering how we ever let ourselves get into this mess.0 -
I think we all feel that way sometimes but the important thing is to remember you are doing something about it now and not adding to the problem.
