O/S Daily Thread Weds 6th June 2012

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All
MM - Hope the quacks goes well xx

Morning BB
You're up early this morning.
Washing's on the line, more in the machine, DW's chugging away.
Little bit of blue sky here today, I hope it lasts.
DGS was 8 yesterday, I got him a book about Walter the F@rting dog & need to drop it round today.
Need to go to the bank today to jiggle some money around & then more kitiing & crochet.
I have loads of stuff listed on Ebay a few with bids on & some with loads of watchers so hopefully they will sell. Also have loads of books on Amazon.
Time for another cuppa.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning chums ,well bright sun at the moment but my old ma-in-law always said sun before seven rain by eleven so I'm not getting too excited.I have my four DGS today and i am taking my waffle iron to their house to see if I can knock up some cheesy waffles for lunch.I bought this gadget in a CS when I was on holiday and it looks as though its never been used so fingers crosse alls o.k. or we will be having thick chessy pancakes for lunch instead.:)
I have to keep reminding myself it WEDNESDAY as with such a long holiday its put all my routine out of synch. It will be a quick week this week that's for sure
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing
Cheers chums

Good morning BB and Hester, and all who follow.
Wow I'm up early, back is playing up so taken my morning meds and now having a nice cuppa. As to what will happen today will depend on how well and quickly my back eases up. Blame myself you would have thought I would have learnt by now to pace myself and take time out.
Sun is out at the moment but rain is forecast . Did put a load in the machine on delayed timer last night , will put it out in a bit (well try).
Woofer is still snoring his head off as are the kids , Need to pay some bills today . House is tidy and clean so think I will just take my own advice today and rest.
Dd is off to Cambridge with some friends today then off to the cinema as its one of her friends birthday, she has saved her 'job' money from me and all her paper round money for the past couple of months and has around £130 , will give her an extra £20 for bus ticket and food she says she is going to buy some summer bits as she is off to Spain with one of her friends in the summer (and their parents). As long as she doesn't come back today with another henna tattoo I wont mind, as she reacted to the last one. Will be reminding her;);)
Dinner is beef in beer slow cooker style with dumplings and mash. Bung it in and walk away. My type of cooking.
Hope you all have a great day.:)
EDIT ..... Happy belated birthday HH DGSPaul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Sun trying to break through the cloud here this morning, very wet underfoot after raining most of the night, temperature dropped dramatically too. DH up and off to work stupid early. I'm back to work today too, but only have to work until lunchtime.
Had an excellent time away, organisers had worked incredibly hard to put a good programme together at short notice, everyone enjoyed themselves, lots of laughs, and was great to catch up with friends we haven't seen for a while. We had to dodge the weather a bit and it did turn cold, but we didn't let it stop us enjoying ourselves.
Have loads to do today as we're away again tomorrow, we're taking the boys to London - we've been promising to take them for ages and just never managed to go so we decided we would take them - I'm really looking forward to it. Need to re-pack, and get all the washing, drying and ironing up to date and get some more food - I'm going to be a busy bee!
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Good morning all,
The sun keeps poking through the clouds here. Hopefully i'll be able to get the washing out today. I did manage to get the washing almost dry yesterday before the rain started.
Hubby is at work so he sorted out the chickens again today. Girls are still in bed and so is the dog. Am enjoying a coffee before i think about anything else. The birds are singing and they sound just lovely.
Turkey breasts, potatoes and veg for tea tonight.
MM, i hope you get on ok at the Dr's today.
Hester, happy birthday for yesterday to your dgs, hope he enjoys his book.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning :hello:
DundeeDoll an argument with yourself is always good. No matter what happens, you will ALWAYS win
I put my foot down last night. If I'm totally honest, I stamped my feet tooOutcome - someone else did the housework that I was planning on doing this morning :j and I'll have got my way by sunday. Wish I could go into detail and explain, because this just makes me look like a tantrum-throwing spoilt cow. But I can't so you'll have to take my word for it, lol.
Yesterday I put a load of kitchen scraps into a bucket and filled it with water, I've called it Compost Soup. I first did this a few of years ago, left it for about a week, strained it then used it as feed in the greenhouses. It seemed to work so I've carried on doing it.
There's another batch of elderflower champagne on the go, the hall smells lovelyBulletproof0
