Has my OH been reading this thread? He's now decided that LO should be told stories before bed so she uses her imagination instead of watching "In the Night Garden".

Just a coincidence that Euro 2012 matches are on at the same time then.

I have know a woman, who's idea of being a sahm with her own 18 month old is to whack him in front of dvd after dvd after dvd all day long non stop while hubby is at work. even when she takes the child out around familys houses, she takes a pile of dvd's with her, plonks the son in front of the tv (never mind if the house holders are daring to watch somethng in their own house) and presses play - so she can have some peace. The child throws a massive wobbly if the dvd's are turned off,and on visiting people as soon as they arrive, the child will go and sit in front the tv waiting for a dvd to go on

It has become a laughing joke amongst her circle of friends and many a time family and friends have tried to talk to her about it and commented.

its amazing really, cos she is excellent with other peoples kids, just cant seem to be a7rsed with her own..
The opposite of what you know...is also true

You could record ITNG to watch at an earlier time than it's usually on, then read a story afterwards, I suppose? Does the bedtime story on cbeebies count? There will be a week's worth of those on catch-up TV if you feel like annoying your OH :D
