I used four square at a pub yesterday with one of their £5 back deals. Checked in and loaded the deal to my card. But I've not received a notification in foursquare that it's gone through.

Has anyone else had a foursquare notification confirming one of these shop small deals? I also registered my card on the shop small website.

I've not done the small shops deal, but on previous check ins for other shops I've sometimes had no notifications but the payment got made still (if that's any reassurance?! )

The foursquare app and the small shop map thingy are soo hit and miss in which shops they pick up based on location. For example my foursquare app picks up a special at a sandwich place called Pod a mile away but not the one that is literally on my doorstep. I still went to the one nearest to me and got the £5 deducted!

Think we should make a list on here of small shop chains where the £5 discount is working. So far i've got:

Clinton Cards
Hotel Chocolat
Rush Hair salon

Checked in to a pub last week on Foursquare, loaded the offer to my card, paid and then got the notification on Foursquare and the subsequent credit on my statement. I did the same last night (different pub) but didn't get the credit notification on Foursquare after making the payment. I will be watching my transactions carefully!

Also had an issue with a restaurant where I checked in on Foursquare, loaded the offer to my card but was then told 'we don't take Amex'. Raised it with Amex through online secure account messaging and they have given me a goodwill £5 credit anyway, even though I had to pay with a Mastercard!

Works at Tossed and Leon too.
Whenever I receive a notification I always receive the credit and when I dont, i dont receive credit.
Also some costas but bot used it there yet.

These 'small shop' offers, can you only do one? Or can you do it once at each shop?

And just to warn you all, it turns out not all of these shops actually accept American Express, as I have just found out to my own cost
